everytime i try to log in it acts normal but then it says "Downloading clothing" and the green bar fills up really slowly then it says something like "Your clothing is still downloading. You can move around the world and other people can see you normally." the problem is i can't move, all i see is sky, i'm invisible to myself and everyone else, all i can do is IM but my name doesn't even show up to people. this is a little like the problem i had before but the solution i was told in that post doesn't work. i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling...rebooting between in case that helps...i've tried deleting the SL folder under Documents & Settings then rebooting and reinstalling and nothing helps. can anyone please help me? |

looks like it was just Slate that was boofed for at least an hour and nothing to do with me. i finally managed to teleport out in my crippled condition and that seemed to fix it. maybe leftovers from all the trouble over the weekend?

ok maybe it wasn't Slate......same thing happened to me in Clara this morning. fortunately if i can ever manage to get a teleport to work that seems to fix it til my next log in but i have to wonder why it's broken all of a sudden in the first place. is this happening to anyone else?

if system specs matter it's an Athlon XP 2000 with 1 gigabyte or RAM and a geforce 3 Ti 500 and more hard drive space than you can shake a stick at. oops forgot to say my video drivers are amazingly up to date also and SL is updated as of Tuesday morning.

well the problem seems to have fixed itself so that's good.. i can't help being suspicious when things spontaneously break then spontaneously fix themselves. is anyone aware of why the problem happened? if it just fixed itself how do i know it won't break itself again? kind of a pain...oh well.

Nooooo...the problem HASN'T spontaneously fixed itself. It drifted over to ME.
Your description is EXACTLY what I was about to post here and has been happening to me since i installed the first of the most recent two updates.
I am NOT a technical person, so i'm doing what i can find to do, but no one from Linden has answered my emails so I just can't play at all. My troubleshooting skills are minimal.
If someone doesn't come along and help me soon, i'll be free of my addiction and won't NEED to be back at all! hahahahahaha
