i think something's really wrong.. i was trying to get on today and everything was super slow. the buttons on the screen where you connect wouldn't do anything but finally i got them to work and clicked connect. it took about 10 minutes but finally after a few tries it connected but it said my inventory and clothes were still downloading. i couldn't move. it would take about 30 seconds for anything to happen on the screen. finally i managed to quit.

everything was acting really weird like it kept trying to update me to 0.9 but then it said i already was. so i uninstalled it and downloaded it again and installed it. then i started it and i got a blue screen and my computer rebooted. when i got back to windows my shortcut for SL was gone so i tried to just find the program and start it. i got in ok but i couldn't do any emotes and when i'd walk and stop i'd be stuck in whatever position i was in. i would try to mess with appearance and my avatar wouldn't turn to face the view. then my whole upper body started bending over like i was melting til my head was pointing straight down. i was looking for a Linden but then i crashed when i tried to talk to someone. :(

now it won't uninstall and the shortcut says it's not valid. i have no idea what to do. can anyone please help?

I can't help, but instead want to report a similar problem. I am experiencing the same symptoms when I try to log in (except I don't crash, just get logged out.)

Damiana,

I'm not sure if your problems are graphics related or network related.

If there's a long delay between when you push the mouse button down over the "Connect" button and when the screen image changes, that's a graphics issue. I would recommend downloading new graphics card drivers, uninstalling your old ones, and installing new ones.

If the screen is changing reasonably quickly, but you can't get logged on, I suspect network issues. There are some articles in the Knowledge Base about dealing with network and firewall problems.

Hope this helps,

James

i upgraded my video drivers last week. everything was working just fine but it blew up today. did you see the part where i said SL won't uninstall now and the shortcut says it's not valid anymore? i don't know how to run the program or how to get rid of it to reinstall it.

there's a long delay between clicking connect and anything happening then there's a really really really long delay before i get in the game.

once i get in my avatar's stuck in weird positions when i move around and my top half start moving like it's blowing in the breeze or deflating or something. well i mean it did when i could still get in.

Then I'm not sure what's going on.

Second Life can be removed from your system by deleting:

C:\Program Files\SecondLife

and

C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\<username>\SecondLife

It sounds like something is either partially installed or partially uninstalled.

I'd try removing those folders (the second one may be "hidden";) and installing again.
