To return to the original question, there's a min-spec iMac en-route to Linden Lab as we speak. We should be able to make a statement about how well the thing runs SL pretty soon. This machine has the dreaded 4MX chipset, which runs SL but without great quality. I'd expect the 5200FX behave much as it does on PCs - good graphics quality but only moderate speed, especially at high resolutions.

The 5200 is the Ford Pinto of the FX series... if you're going to buy a Mac, get a tower. That way you at least have the possibility of upgrading the video card in the future.
