I've been in SL for over 4 years and have never seen this error... While building, every so often when I try to move a prim, I get a blue dialog in the lower right corner of the screen, saying "Cant reposition -- permission denied".. I'm in a sim that I have full group rights, have never seen it while building before.. Of course its been a while since I have built in SL, doing most of my building now in OSGrid/OpenSim, where I'm not bothered with the pesky 10m prim limit or limitations on linking distance.. I'm trying to duplicate one of my large sky-builds in SL after perfecting it in OpenSim...

Here's one thread on that message: /8/a0/277361/1.htmlIf you go to the jira and put in reposition denied as search terms you will find a number of reports of receipt of that error message.

Yikes! I see quite a few entries in Jira that are exactly what I'm seeing, and going back several years, and I see no resolution to any of the first 10 or so I checked... One of the comments suggested perhaps group issues or being too close to a sim boundary.. Neither apply to me, as I have full group rights in the sim, and the build is in the center of the sim.. The problem occurs when I move a single prim (not a linkset) more than a certain distance.. always WAY less than where it needs to go.. Once I deselect that "erroring" prim, and select something else, the erroring prim snaps back like a rubber band.. Oh well, at least its not just me.... Thanks for the reply, Suzanne...

The only solution I've ever found for this has been to delete the offending prim, and replace it with a new one. Annoying, isn't it? Sorry I don't have a better answer.

It's mostly because you drag a prim onto a parcel where 'object entry' has been deselected. This will happen also if you're the owner of a sim and have full rights

Thansk!! I did not know that... I'll run that by the sim owner and see if thats checked.. I've noticed that checkbox in the estate tab on my OSGrid sim, but since I don't own the sim in question in SL, thats greyed-out to me....
Thanks again...
