Windows XP Pro
Radeon x1300 256mb
Catalyst 8.3

It seemed to happen right after the 1.19.1 (4) patch,
My video starts out fine when I log in, however it soon deteriorates, causing video loss (black square pixels), pixelization (smooth edges turn into shapes), and lag. Eventually, SL freezes or locks up the whole PC where only the mouse cursor functions.

The video card seems to run fine in Counter-Strike, and plays movies beautifully, so I'm doubting that the card is fried...Any clues on what I could do to play without crashing even?

Counterstike is not a OpenGL platform. ATI cards have been suffering OpenGL driver issues for some months. Check your GC for overheating, making sure the fan works and the heatsink is clean of dust etc.

Same problem for me!!!

My Case is New from 1 week:

PROCESSOR: AMD Athlonx2 5600+ 64Bit
MOBO: Asus M2N-SLI
GRAPHIC CARD: ASUS Ati EAX1600Pro/TD 256MB.
RAM: 2GB Corsair

The GC work fine with other games but in SL i have some GUI characters distorted especially for initial letter of inventory, script and notecard windows.
Other problem is broken graphics (i think shader problem) when i use stretch option in build mode and back normal only if i choose the texture tab from build window.

The reason for me is an OpenGL incompatibilty!
Wait a LL fix for this fastidious problem! :(

I to have an ATI card and experiencing some graphic issues. I posted my own thread:
/111/1d/253832/1.html#post1956781

From: someone

I get this weird graphic glitch, which only comes up if I am building for long periods of time (over an hour).

I have an ATI Radeon 1950XT 256mb, driver version: 6.14.0010.6783

I did have some problem with my videocard overheating (videocard was getting up to 70'C) and as a temporary fix I put a large fan pointing to the inside of my case, dropping the temperature. Although this has not helped with this graphic glitch I am getting. I had updated the videocard drivers, no change either.

It causes those feathered outlines, both around menu items and object selections to turn into a dashed line, it also warps the geometry of objects when zoomed in. The sky also gets distorted. The only way to make this temporarily go away is to go to the Texture tab in the edit window and select a texture on a prim. But as soon as I go to stretch an object it comes back.

I do not have any problems with other 3D games, but then again, this is the only OpenGL game I have. Also, I've had this issue with pre-windlight as well. I currently have Atmospheric Shaders turned off, but I still get the same issue if its on, but textures get distorted and flicker. I mainly do not use Atmospheric Shaders as a lot of people use face lamps that are too strong and with Atmospheric Shaders on, they are a huge ball of light.

So, bottom line is I'm trying to figure out if this is a hardware problem with my videocard or some software problem. As it makes it difficult to build, and building is one of the things I love doing. As you can see from the videoclip, I am currently building a house, which I had put a hold on a year ago! O.O And I am eager to get back to work on it hehe.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
