...your point is....?

Considering how long we've been in SL and the issues we've had and the reports we've filed...... oh nevermind... you know what my point is.

Hey guys you know server issues happen.. It's not like it took THAT long to fix.. Technical problems happen when you're running such a massive infrastructure and network.

Forgot to mention if they'd run backups more often than a blue moon on a decent server setup and stop loading 100+ sims on servers they say are dedicated for one sim they'd have a lot less issues as well. Might also stop losing inventory as often as most people change thier underwear.

i'm just saying... networks go wrong.. it's to be expected you can't totally eliminate it.. One of the machines probably died and they had to figure which one it was and get a backup server up or something.. I don't know that much about the technicalities, but I do know the occasional large scale problem is to be expected

Pretty obvious to me as often as they lose things like major chunks of folks' inventory they don't even know what a backup is. All I know is I ran a storage server msyself for quite some time with less than 1% downtime. And I hihgly doubt they fixed any machines. More likely they just took the bad one offline and crammed the contents onto another already overloaded server

No. You can't totally eliminate it but at the frequency in which this sort of thing happens and the issues that have been ongoing for at least 4 years I know of that have not been fixed...Like I've been saying for those 4 years, they should have fixed those issues back then instead of adding more bells and whistles and increasing the issues and downtime. All the new stuff does not make up for all the other issues they have never fixed and are only getting worse.

If the machines are dedicated one per sim how can one machine crashing effect 9000 regions?

Yay! They fixed the problem; and did so in under an hour this time! I'm finally logged in.

I'm shocked it didn't take another day!

If you still can't log in only thing I can suggest is to file a support ticket... good luck!
