I'm noticing crashes that appear to be random, I get in world, build for a while, then just die.

Anyone else using these drivers and getting this?

Gonna revert to my last set and see if it goes away

Great - report back on what you find on revert - I am also on latest Nvidia drivers and have been crashing every 10 - 20 minutes If I move much. It seems stable if I remain in one place , like working on a object etc, but if I fly or turn alot Ill crash.

I think I have somehow displeased the gods, as I now have difficulty staying online for more than 15-20 mins at a time. I can spot no commonality between my crashes save the crash itself. Happens in the middle of conversations, while I'm building, while I'm flying around, as I'm coding.

I upgraded and I am only having problems when I'm doing a lot of flying at high altitudes over large distances, in which case it has a tendency to crash. I hadn't noticed this problem before, but I haven't been using long or regularly enough to give an accurate comparison. I did revert to the older drivers for a while, and saw no change. I'm happy with the performance at the moment as long as I'm sitting in one place or moving slowly.

One thing to note: If you use the nView desktop manager, and start Second Life on a desktop besides your default, sound will not work. Can anybody confirm this or is it just me?

I'm gonna tweak...

my settings.
I'd tried setting my view distance to 256, last week, maybe I'll drop back to 128 and see if there's any change.

If you're crashing frequently, we want to hear from you... Our stability in our office is pretty good, but we don't have the variety of hardware (and software) that our users have.

See the link below for how to report a crash.

We're also going to make it a lot easier to report crashes, and have also fixed many crashes in our development tree. When the new release is out(which is soon!), you'll hopefully see some improvement, so hang in there...

my crashing

seems to have been mitigated by dropping my viewing distance from 512 to 256

I also have been experiencing crashes after a few minutes that so far seem to occur while flying. I did not experience any of these crashes with the old client. It was very stable. However, I have also just upgraded to the latest 41.09 Nvidia drivers (the ones that are not yet WHQL certified). I have a feeling the problem may be the video drivers rather than the client. The drivers that I had before were 40.73 or somewhere in that range. I am going to roll back the drivers and see if that could be the cause. Is their anyone out there at the moment not experiencing crashes that is running WinXP with a Geforce4 Ti 4200 with 41.09 drivers? Maybe this can be narrowed down to a certain hardware/driver configuration.
