Maybe you have an AMD processor?

I dunno if that's the reason, but it wass hell to install on my AMD box.

Xandros

You should check out Xandros, a Debian based distribution.

After being a Red Hat user for a few years and using Fedora Core I and II for a while, I have converted to Xandros.

I won't write the full details, but from all the distributions I have tested, this one makes an awesome intro to Linux noobies.

The problem with Linux extremists is that they expect old ladies and non-geeks to embrace the command line, while those people are looking for simplicity, not an all consuming affair.

Xandros installs fully in five minutes, one CD. Updates and new software installs are no a no brainer through the Xandros Network.

Anyway, this is not meant to be an ad, it is just that I appreciate that this company has the right thinking; co-exist with Windows, not try to get rid of it.

Cheers,

Tito
