Okay. I'm having a really big problem here. Let me start with revealing my specs.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8gHz
RAM: 2gb
Video Card: GeForce 9400GT
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3

I log on just fine, but everytime I teleport to most sims, I end up lagging extremely and eventually, lagging offline. This has only happened to me recently.

My specs are

HD: 500BG
RAM: 4GB
GC: nVidia 9900GT
CPU: Tri Core 2.1 GHZ
VS: Windows Vista SP 2

This problem started happenign a few weeks ago for me when I donwloaded the last few SL viwers. I never used to lag, or crash or have problems at all but the last 3 or four updates seem to have overloaded the viewer for many many people.

Most of which have PC's with my capabilities and/or better. I would suggest trying out various alternate viewers, and setting your graphics to low. Also clear your cache, your cookies and get rid of your old files on your PC and defrag it. Then run a virus scan.

After all that log into the various viwers you donwload and see if A: it's any better in SL or B: one of them works better for you.

At the moment I'm using the emeral viewer, only just donwloaded os I cna't give any feedback but another one is meercat.

Emerald can be foudn at:

I hope this helps.

Hi Neo you might want to read this post:
/111/fa/344649/1.html

We have had the same problem cos LL keeps changing things making SL harder to run.
We lowered our settings and were able to walk again. Might want to give it a try.

It's not just the viewer it's LL all together cos we haven't been using SL-viewer for ages.

Good luck.

Hi Neo. I'm using SL with a laptop whose specs are pitiful compared to yours, and while I have a lower frame rate than I did a few months ago, I'm not crashing as you are. So, some things to try:

-- It could be that your broadband modem or router has become confused. Try powering it down, waiting for 15 minutes, then powering it up again (15 minutes to let the network forget the routing it was using for you previously).

-- Alternatively, your ISP could be throttling your bandwidth, or have inexplicably begun providing worse service. Try testing your connection at http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest?flash=1

If you are wearing a lot of scripted attachments (resizing hair, radar/sensors, etc., colorchange boots), you will do better with fewer of those.

Look at your graphic settings to be sure they're moderate. The one that has the most influence for me is graphic rez distance - I keep that at 64 unless I know I want to look at a view.

ETA: If you are using the 1.23.4 viewer, go back to 1.22 or try Emerald or Snowglobe. 1.23.4 gives lower-end machines fits.

Since a couple of weeks i have the same problems.. I use the Kirstens viewer or the Rainbow viewer to connect to SL.. The only reason that i have is since LL have changed their Server:( after that people complain about LAG, Crashing, Crash on teleport and so on. Its not on our ISP and also NOT on our Routers. I Used the Wireless connection* and before the changing i didn't have any LAG and after the changing there is LAG and i crash many times or my window freezes..

So people WAKE UP its not OUR fault.. don't blame it on your pc or ISP or modem/router or the settings..

* I know SL preferred Cable connections but before I have not any problem with it.

Sys Spec:
Acer Aspire 5520G
AMD turion 64 X2 2.0Ghz
4GB Ram DDR2 (3GB Used 32bit)
Nvidia 8600M GS 512mb (latest Nvidia drivers 186.81)
250GB HDD
OS: Windows 7 RC7100 32bit
