Hey there, I'm having problems teleporting - It's been like this since yesterday evening, and it seems to happen a few times each month.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled sl.
I've taken off all items and tried to tp.
Tried tp'ing to mainland - like Pooley.
I've restarted my pc - and my wireless.
Cleaned cache

But nothing works D:

I can do everything else just fine - changing clothes and the such. But, I was wondering if there is a helpful answer to all this?

Thanks in advance chickadees <3

EDIT - It's SL. Not Me, lolz.

Same started happening to me yesterday , no tp's , also no gorups in my group list, no sound and no voice, seems since yesterday it takes much longer on the section "initializing multimedia" when I am logging in, have tried re-install of SL and Quicktime, still no luck.

Not to mention the amount of lag SL is experiencing after the latest updates. Really dreadfull if you know that with a connection that is capable for 24 mbps download and 1 mbps upload. Merely getting a max of 150 kbps from SL. Viva la Revolution, but not for SL it appears. Get your act together, pls. I have a business to run here, plus a job to fulfill.

I have had the same problem too. Ive had the game installed for a couple weeks now. It didnt happen the first couple days I played. But now, it happens evrey time I play. And, sometimes when I try to log back in, it crashes again. My computer exceeds all the minimum requirements, and I have high speed internet. It is very frustrating. Could it be a problem in my settings for the game, or just some other internal problem of the game. I thought I was alone in this problem, but now I see that there are more people with the same problem. I enjoy playing, but there is so much more that i am missing by the game not working properly. If anyone could give us some input on this issue, it would be greatly appreiciated. Thank you.

fix for tp and crashing issues
05-14-2009 22:36
delete your cache files .... clean up your inventory too
if its too much and any one folder you crash at tp or login

see this for some notes on what to do
if its xp the instructions are clear
for vista the cache files are hidden under desktop folder
sl viewer preferences network cache tells you exactly before you login on the main page in all instances

/111/a4/303015/1.html

for some folks that have to use wireless only ,adding second wireless card will help ,run both at same time and get a little more bandwidth

Done all that. I mentioned in my post that I had xD

It's having a stage where it's working again.

I'm thinking it's SL and not me.

this happens to me alot too, all I get is people saying the same crap "clear your cache" if I didn't clear my cache every time I logged out I would understand that theory..... stop spouting crap, if you don't know the solution to the problem, don't speak at all hmmkay?

I have been playing SL for 4 years and it is getting progressively worse, the bugs are getting more frequent.

It's called progressive troubleshooting. You eliminate the basic Probable Causes before diving deeper into the problem. Ninety-five percent of reported problems get resolved at this stage. After all, if your hair dryer stops working, do you take the thing completely apart before verifying that the plug works?

If you are getting stuck teleporting, or having inventory issues, and you've already cleared your cache and relogged, then try logging in as an alt. Don't have an alt? Create one. They make great troubleshooting tools for problems such as this, or stuck logins, and so on.

If you experience the same issues with your alt, then the problem is likely something within SL's network. However, you should run a test of your internet connection by going to http://www.dslreports.com/stest/ and running a speed test. If your speed is good and your ping times are low, then it is likely an issue with SL's network. If your scores are NOT good, then it is either an issue with your ISP, or it is a modem/router issue, or something wrong with your own network.

If you do NOT experience the same issues with your alt, then the problem is with your specific account. If clearing cache did not solve your problem, then maybe clearing out your locally-stored SL profile will. Before doing that, however, try a different computer, if one is available. Otherwise, try a different login on your existing computer, or create a new user if you don't have a second login. Log into your computer as the different user, then launch SL as your problem avatar, then try to TP. If this works, then you will need to wipe the locally-stored SL profile off your main login. If using a different computer or using a different login on the same computer does NOT work, then the problem is with your SL account, likely a corruption at the server end. Try opening a support ticket and explain your problem.

Wiping your locally-stored SL profile is not terribly difficult, and has no lasting effect on your SL account or avatar. The only down side is that you will have to edit your viewer settings again.

I am having the same problems these past 3 days. I cant TP anywhere, and anytime I try to, SL boots me off. Everything else is ok, I can rez objects with minimal lag fly go anywhere on the sim I am on, but teleport.

I've tried:
- detaching everything I got
- flew over 200m and tried to TP but wihuot success
- tried logging in on Pooley and TP away....without success
- cleared caches
- uninstalled SL and reintalled
- uninstalled SL then using another program to completely remove traces of SL from my computer and then defragging my hardrive...updating AVG antivirus to check for possible viruses etc...

- reinstalled SL after that with no success of TPing out
- tried with a RC version...also without success
- login on alt also gave the same problem...therefore its not account related.

Sometimes my groups dont appear, they show as "none" in the groups panel.

I'm at my wits end. I'm a builder and am working working on a sim building project on the sim, but i still have other clients who needs some minor things done to their sims and I cant get to them. This sux....and i hope to WHOEVER it is....that this is a temporary SL glitch....

Another of SL's imaginary problems it seems, shame they dont decide to put an imaginary comment on the grid status page to save us all the effort and hassle of reloading, rebooting, chasing ISPs, etc.

One thing I have noticed..I am living in the UK for my sins and its worse on evenings and clears a bit after 11PM or so......but today it is pretty goosed all day......

yeah, the jira i opened was closed with the generic "clean cache" responce, so to the lindens, there is no issue, its our fault!

I've not been able to teleport properly in two days now and I also have login problems (it takes me 15 - 30 minutes to get in the game) and I can't upload anything, either. I posted another topic of this yesterday in these boards, too, but no one's yet replied how to fix it. :(

I don't know if it's country related but I'm in Spain.

same ole thing again to repeat my self in diff ways then
06-03-2009 12:18
go the the url i posted above .. look inside that for instructions

don't clear your cache ...delete it
test it .
sign on with another new ava account and tp. if you can't tp then your computer ports or router or internet providers are incorrectly configured.
test it .
use a friends computer to tp with.

if your inventory is a mess you will not tp. see the url mentioned.
if your cache is damaged you will not tp well if at all.
if your network is configured incorrectly for outgoing ports ,no tp.

now you can tp when.?
as another ava.?
not at all ?
can you tp on another computer in a diff location.?
try another viewer like kristen's viewer . google it .

can't say it in many more diff ways either

oh the url again for ya.. " /111/a4/303015/1.html "

testing .....;

is this thing on? /:

i have had this from months now .. and sent a ticket and its still saying work in progress, i dont think they have a solution for this problem, its seems that this problem is spreading all over.

1 its either they don't care what is happening to us
2 they do care but cannot fix
3 they can fix but they are too lazy to do so

its 1 and 3... after sending a ticket in about it..waiting 4 weeks for a reply, then trying to get the Rep to actaully READ my ticket she closed my ticket and took my rights away to re open it. SHe just kepy copy and pasting things i already knew and tried and still no matter what would not read my ticket... How do i know? well its not hard to tell when someone hasnt read something i clearly explained i tried the database, i tried re installing, tried claring cahe, DNS, retarting my computer, my roughter, talking to a in game helper, tried other computer, informed her it doesnt happen on my alt accounts and still she proceeds to copy and paste then when i asked for a different rep. she made it so i cannot re open the ticket again at all. And My house hold pays for a premium account so yeah... dont expect any help from Linden labs paying customer or not.

Shut everything down and reset
07-05-2009 20:48
I had this happen to me twice in the last couple weeks, the way I fixed it was to shutdown the computer, unplug the Routher and Cable Modem, wait at least 60 seconds, connect back up and try logging in after you reset everything.
