SL crashes for builders?

This seems to be an ongoing issue for me. SL runs absolutely beautiful, pretty much all the time.

Except when I build. Almost every single time, guaranteed, I crash when building. And every time, it's when I'm doing something in the object tab.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I haven't experienced this particular problem. One of the few times I have trouble with crashing is when I am editing the contents of a prim. Changing perms, renaming, etc. It doesn't happen very often, but when it is happening on a "bad SL" day, I can pretty much guarantee that I'm going to crash several times if I need to do more than one or two prims.

Sometimes, it happens when I am renaming textures in inventory, as well. I buy a large texture pack, set about renaming all the textures to names that make sense, and my viewer becomes a crash-o-matic. This doesn't happen very often either, but when it does, it's crash, log in, rename a few, crash, cuss, repeat.

I can't imagine crashing nearly every time I build, though. That would truly suck.

if you have crashed a lot then your cache is most likely damage ..
delete it .

Wonder if it's something with my graphics card, then. Because damn. This is so annoying...

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client? And, yes, I suppose it could be a corrupted cache, although I've never encountered it. Easiest just to reinstall everything, imo.

Also, does it happen with other clients, like the RC, for instance? And, I hate to ask the obvious, but does your computer meet all the minimum requirements for SL? I haven't had my particular problem since I brought my graphics card up to spec, for instance.

Oh, it more than meets the requirements. When I'm not building, I can run four sessions at once. All the power is there, no problem.

Yeah, I'll have to try some different clients, I guess.
