Please see this Announcement: /3/17/50623/1.html

From: someone
VOLUNTEERING: We want to find as many historical builds, objects, and photos as possible. This is where all of YOU can greatly help! If you have any such items you think would be fun for this event, please contact Pathfinder Linden. And if you're a New Resident who wants to try and help in some way, please contact Pathfinder as well.

I figured I'd start this thread if anyone would like to share info, ideas, coordinate things, or would just like more information about the upcoming Celebration.

Moderator, please move this thread to the Events discussion forum, as you did for the LGBT Pride planning threads.

Live video streaming from the lindenlabs offices would be kewl, and showing off the future directions in the software as well as the past in the builds etc.

Heh, I somehow feel that watching people sit at computers in an office wouldn't keep me glued to SL :)

I'd love to hear Magellan Linden telling stories around a fire. And it'd be fun to have another round of Dunk the Lindens :)

Well, I do find 2 years of SL reason for celebration.

But, uh... not to be raining on any parades... :o

Couldn't have this been done without taking the vehicle sims? And, more importantly, is the permanent structure that's going to be birthed from this going to remain in the vehilcle sims? :(

Inquiring pilots wanna know!

Well, maybe EVERYBODY wouldn't be glued to their computer, but I know I would.

In TSO, when they had a convention in Detroit, they set up a little web cam, and those of us who couldn't go sat in TSO all night and watched that cam and partied ourselves.

Course, they wouldn't come in FRONT of the dang cam but once every hour or so, to wave, so was it lame? yeah Was it fun? Oodles!

We're having the Pride parade in the racing sims on Monday 6/27, so whatever gets built there for 6/23 will be removed then.

By the way, the racing sims are available for anyone to rent at a totally ridiculous rate, which can be good for a short term special event.

Nathan.. I have pictures! LOL..
We had the Linden dunking at the Touchstone Fair not long ago. It was a lot of fun. I think I counted 28 different Lindens who came to join the fun. Nice and loose and just a lot of kidding around.

You know, Pathfinder, that a great many of us in SL still have to work during the day, as is traditional in industrial societies.

So LL "events" really should be scheduled at 5 PM PST or later.

Either way, hopefully this will be going on for a while. I love SL and I'd like to meet everyone. But I suspect that there will be no one left there when I get home from work. :(

Yes but i hope you also take into account that secondlife is an international venue, even at 3pm their second largest customer base the uk at 8% it will 11pm at night, nevermind those further east. Everything eventwise in sl is a compromise with somebody timewise especially when gametime is so far west

Please forgive me if I have missed something somewhere I should have read. As I do not want to miss any of the festivites, I went looking through the list of events today so as I could send myself a notify reminder, but could find any "Celebration Birthday Party" related events posted.

I also did a search for the places listed Georgean, Bethel, etc and they did not show up.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks.

Those are sim names, easiest way to fond those is to open you map, and use the "region" drop-down box.

Yes but he has a valid point...not everyone in SL reads the forums or the notices. So it would be great for the Lindens to post this in the Event Calendar or even send the drop down notices grid-wide every so often so people are informed about it.

Well I wish it was earlier, because for us Europe people 3pm SL is midnight, so I can't go.
