Is event griefing still common?

A friend and I used to hold minor, but well attended events in order to provide alternatives to "who can move the appearance 'bust' slider the most to the right?" contests.
We stopped doing so when posting an event on the calendar was equivalent to "Welcome griefers with push-guns".
We'd like to start doing so again and are hoping that event griefing is not "guaranteed" any longer. We'd appreciate any recent experiences on the matter. Thanks.

I haven't seen a greifer in months, but I only have a couple of events a week.

There remain the occasional griefers, although I have yet to have any trouble from them myself.

From: someone I haven't seen a greifer in months, but I only have a couple of events a week. "only" a couple events a week? Thanks for the responses folks; even with the linked thread we think it worth a shot (so to speak).

I would say it's not that common now, but as soon as I say it, I will run into a rash of greifing and I'm out of greifing cream , so.... I'm just not going to say it.

well i think that is great that you are doing that... the lindens weapons teasting sandbox is filled with greifers sometimes though, however it is a great place. i am working on an anti griefing weapon that works like a cager, yet it notifies the LL when it puts them in, i am also bitting off the idia of a tag gun, and it will have a huge sign on it that says "im a griefer" on it. if anyone is interested in this weapon, contact me in SL, if im not on, then i/m me. if you are always stuck in a cage, then i suggest www.slexchange.com , it has a great price on an anti orbiting tp. when you are in an orbiter, then you just rez the gadget and you teleport on tothe ground. kamf fur leben Joker opus
