Would anyone be interested in maybe doing an SL version of ISIHAC? I think most of the things can be replicated using text entry only.

Maybe, if you can explain the rules of Mornington Crescent...

Which version ?

The original 1880 Metropolitan rules have little in common with the 2003 PPP revisions. I've noticed Humph prefers the Jubilee extensions.

I prefer the 1642 revision using the famous Blackfriars reversal. However saying that, the Jubilee extensions can be fun also.

Which rules did you have in mind for the show?

aha!

The Blackfriars reversal is fine until you get caught up in a Brompton switch. Trouble!
At which time the only way around is to go back to New Brunswick ( unless horizontals are allowed of course ) But I'm giving too much away!

What makes this doubly funny is that I'm currently in the middle of a Mornington Crescent game on the BBC message boards. What fun.

I think Mornington Cresent could be done in SL. Even if no one has any idea what's going on.

So would anyone be interested in maybe doing a 25 minute show? Would there even be in world interest?

I think a more accurate description of the game is available - and even a java app version you can play online here

what a laugh !

"I wish to complain that my father hurt his ankle very badly when he put his foot in the hole in his back passage and their 18 year old son is continually banging his balls against my fence."

For our cousins across the pond... ( warning the BBC use RealAudio for reasons known only to them ) http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/clue/clips/

(Personally I don't think those clips represent the best or funniest by a long way.)

You're better off going to www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/listenagain/monday then scrolling down to 12:30 pm. It's a full length show from the archives.

Well, let's see...we could rotate being Humph if we got a group of people willing to do it.

Just a very hearty nod of encouragement from me, I'm afraid - I look forward to seeing it happen but don't have the quickness of wit to take part!

Would be great!

Cheddar Gorge would be another game that's easy to adapt to SL, as would Sound (or text) Charades.

One Song to the Tune of Another might be more problematic.

Typical, concentrating on the more foolish aspects of the program gives totally the wrong impression to our friends across the Atlantic. Why not mention the more cultural aspects of the show, such as movies of interest to the Second Life Film club?

A quick trawl through the net revals a number of classics ripe for discussion:

Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Furry
The Constant Griefer
The Sim Crashers
Everything is (Hardware) Illuminated
Dr Torley or How I learned to stop worrying and love the lag
The Silence of the Muted
Bring Me The Prims Of Alfredo Garcia
Close Encounters of the Tiny Kind
Eternal Slingo for the Spotless Mind
The Prim of Miss Jean Brodie
The Chronicals of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the chap with a box on his head.

I think I'd better stop there.

Okay, Tip? You're on the panel now. Also, I'll take Stig if you want.

Oh let me come be...whatever you like. Preferably on the panel, but I will be Samantha if you insist (in a box under the chairman's desk)...or the piano player. One song to the tune of another is one of my favourites...I'd be useless at that, but who cares. I'm quick witted and type fast, not necessarily in that order.

Cali, you're on. If I can get confirmations from the others, then we've got a panel and host (I already had someone else confirmed). I'll keep you posted on when we'll do it.

Neptune,

I'll give it a go. I'm on UK time, so I'll need some leadtime if you pick a USA evening.

Not wishing to dispel anyone's illusions or anything...but I think, I am almost sure, that the chairman follows a script and the teams have advance warning of the areas in which they might be called upon to be creative.

So a little pre-presentation planning between producer, presenter and panel might make for a more pleasurable production.

Pity there's no pointless alliteration round. If you should wish to do this from Numbakulla or Nemesis, they are at your disposal.
