could it possibly be different agp/pci/pci-e drivers? it's possible (even SOP at some shops) that when they upgrade the hardware (HD in this case) they went ahead and updated all the hardware drivers (or just used what they had on hand..... feel like digging around and getting the bus driver revision numbers?

Hi Chosen & Samara,I have never had this happen to me (lucky eh) but I'm intrigued that it does not seem hardware dependent, have you guys tried using an Alt to see what happens then ?. I'm thinking that if the hardware is eliminated, and it's not the client installation, then the Av's link with it's assets may be the problem.

Interesting theory, Roland. I wish it were that simple. My alts seem to have the same issues. It's bizarre.

NEW INFO on Sixth Side bug and Client
12-04-2007 18:07
OK. MAJOR problems getting in world this morning (was in world got kicked off (and alt) and couldn't get back in with 8 tries. IMMEDIATE log off. Anyway------
The only way I could get in world this morning was to use the OnRez viewer instead of my regular client. While I had to FIND things (wink) it worked perfectly and I didn't crash the whole day even though I had multiple people on and I was REMODELING THE SIM!!!!
Anyway -- how this relates. I had no problem with the sixth side when using the OnRez viewer. I noted that in passing as I was busy retexturing and such. It has happened on and off of late with the default viewer also. But tonight I logged in again and it was still fine (unusual for me) and I immediately logged in with the LL client and preformed EXACTLY the same steps and I had the sixth side as plywood.
That sort of seems important. If the OnRez viewer can get rid of the problem for me long term -- I AM THEIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think I mentioned at the beginning it happens with ALT etc. Does not appear to be either computre dependent (multiple computers tried with the same problem) or login dependent as I have the same problem with alts as well as friend accounts tested. Believe someone else mention that also long ago and far away in this tome of a post It is obviously a conflict of some kind and I suspect it must be software related although I have almost no software on this compture. The latest OnRez client works when SL client doesn't seems fairly important )) See post above
