Mind you, I'm a builder, so I'm only looking at things from that angle; and mind you, I was only on a couple of hours, building.

And there were these occasional sort of long waves where nothing happened and I thought I'd been disconnected, but wasn't, but I chalked that up to update day.

Otherwise, I'm pleased with the update. I no longer have to remove the entire number to change a number in the edit field (or take two steps to do it), and the expanded camera is great for building (if not for privacy - but then, there are probably a whole lot more builders than peeping toms, I think).

The sim FPS remained steady, too. And the whole group thing looks nifty, though I just glanced at it.

What do y'all think of the update?

Overall, I'm happy. I don't like the camera object click bug, but that's very minor. I like the group enhancements, the new camera controls, and some of the other bux fixes.

Oh yeah! The camera thing! It looks (from the release notes) that we can check a box and have it just go back to the way it used to be; is that right?

In any case, it's more choice than what was, so that's great, too.

Agreed.

Every bug LL said they fixed, they fixed. No huge proplems with any of the few Features they added this time.

The restructoring of the Snapshot funtion is greatly appreciated. Though I would opt for a larger mini-preview window. As is, it is full screen shots or microscope needed to see preview.

The new Group Fuctions are kewl, but need some redoing. Officers have too much authority by default. Selling Land comes to mind first. I know Officers could sell land under teh old system, but there's no need to keep it that way. Reduce Roles to minimum by default. Let the Owner add more if they wish, don't do it automatically.

Other minor issues, but nothing that requires pushing the "PANIC" button this time:D

Good job overall, LL (even with the oopsy of bringing the grid up as a Test the first time:o)

*two thumbs up*

1.12 is a floor-wax and a dessert topping too!

Just kidding.

I've been really, really pleased with this update. Have seen a few sims spike with major time dialation, but nothing like it was as recent as this last weekend. Groups and roles are really complex, but with that complexity comes some really powerful stuff. I don't have land to sell, but what little I've seen of the land sales dialog looks like a big improvement. Estate land sales should be awesome -- I hope the estate I currently live on will let us buy our parcels soon. Sim crossing seems to be performing much better for me too. And, things just seem to have more of "teh snappy" than before. Yeah, less lag!

I feel like LL is really focusing on stomping those bugs that are still out there. Dare we hope to see big changes one day, like a Havok upgrade and a switch to Mono for scripting? I'm optimistic!

Wait till version 1.13 comes out. 13 isn't exactly a GOOD number after all. :P

Yes, steadily red for me. :(

Overall it was not one of their worst updates by any means. I think 1.7 still holds that record.

Very Pleased. I think LL got it right this time. Update every 2 weeks is very doable. I plan on housecleaning on those days. :P

I am ecstatic that I can cross a sim and not end up in the middle of it. :D

Generally I'm happy with the changes but they REALLY screwed the pooch with the changes to the land management tools.

You know what, I hadn't thought of that! Maybe it did go much smoother because they took two weeks on it!

I'm loving that they fixed the edit thing... I'd gotten used to it, but building has been much sweeter tonight. The new features seem good too, and added some much-needed stuff.

It looks to me like they set up the Officer role for maximum backward compatibliity. I'm with you here; I think I would have chosen a slightly less permissive set of permissions as you suggest. But at least you have to work a bit to invite somebody in as an Officer; the default is Everybody.

Nice to see land Covenantts deployed in time for Burning Life, and what an excellent event for unveiling them! :)

Was puzzled a little by the " * Scripts will not start running until the “Running” box is manually checked" bit seeming to conflict with the behavior seen when clicking (New Script), which apparently does have the running checkbox pre-selected. I'll have to experiment with this some. I have a number of self-deleting 'utility' scripts that I drop on prims to do certain things. If I have to drop the script then set it to running as two steps that might get old in a hurry. :)

Glad to see temp-on-rez updated... (and not just for Starax's magic wand! :)
