Oh dear....

Even though it may seem I am a supposed "newbie" I am on alt of mine due to alot of issues.But tonight I read something rather funny.So here is goes,I come into the WA as I have done for quite some time,and alot of people where having fun wearing cones and what not then all of a sudden some "reg" comes in makes the comment " here an ALT there an ALT everywhere an ALT ALT" (I won't name names ) but I made the comment I am one of 5 alts .Well without even getting the chance to explain my situation this vulgar little girl makes a comment that I am hiding and that I'm not strong because I'm not on my reg char.Well I make the comment that she is ignorant because she is judging me before she even knows me hah!When searching for this little brat on the forums there is a big ol topic about the WA.Her comments are so freaking funny ,some about how she doesn't want people to ruin her "home"WA) and how people judge her.I swear the more children that come to SL the more ignorant and cocky they become.Oh how I love a hypocrite and someone whom assumes things rather than finding out.Here's a tip for ya kiddo,get the stick out of your butt and get off that high horse .What right do you ignorant little children have judging someone who has alts?It's my right as long as I pay for them to have them.Seems more and more the bitches of the WA need to realize this is a game and not take it so seriously.Also note midol is a wonderful drug that can cure your problems,or better yet don;t come back for a week!

Seriously, though: I'm saddened by the immature behavior I see so often. It's not just in SL, either... it's all over. Why do people seem to feel the need to tear others down? It's dissapointing. I don't care if you're an alt, a not-alt, or your alt's third cousin from Cuba. Every person deserves respect unless they prove that they can't show respect to others.

The so-called "golden rule" is so easy to apply and would make everybody's life so much better: Do to others what you want them to do to you.

Is that thought really so difficult that it's completely lost in today's society?

I was making a point about how she acts. The fact that just tonight she did the same thing rather then get to know someone. Judging based soley on how someone looks or if they are an alt just shows her lack of maturity. And how can I talk to someone who wants to make the comment that I'm supposedly a "whore alt " that goes to sex parties and sell's my fake virtual vagina.Funny thing is I have never once gone to a "sex" club or party or have sold my "virtual" vagina in SL(lmao) .But she obviously assumes such things about anyone who is not her friend.


But siting there seeing how she acted towards several other people without even thinking of what she was saying was highly immature.

Just goes to show that people in SL still base their opinions off of ignorant stereotypes.

And yeah I did call her a bitch for how she was acting due to the fact that the way she was acting towards several other players just shows how she is. Never once have I played with peoples emotions,but she seems to think all alts act that way.Never once have I gone to a mature sim looking for a "good time".But yeah she seems to think that way.

This kind of behavior in the WA is hardly a "trifling matter".

It's worse than that, Ginger.

My friend, who is also in SL, was recently on another forum where he was attacked mercilessly for speaking his mind. The forum he was on has a group that is very much like the "FIC" Here, except that over there it's the "Old Timers Club" or "Old Farts Club".

He mentions that he's getting out of the hobby because can't afford to stay. He also mentions that he needs the money for school: he's studying psychology.

That's when the feces hit the air circulation device. Within hours, there were 14 pages of posts... almost all of them calling him every name in the book. He called me, very upset, to talk about it. The thing that stung him the most was when someone decided he was running a "psychology experiment" on the forums and started calling him a troll. He'd spoken his mind a few times, but only after others had started threads that were very insulting to people who engaged in activities that he had previously been involved in (which were, in fact, a precurser to what this forum was organized around)

The problem is that people in forums, chat rooms, or virtual worlds don't seem to care if they hurt others' feelings. They seem to forget that there's a real person beind the name, and they say things that they'd never say in real life.

Do you think that this same person would come up to you in real life and start calling you a whore? I sincerely doubt it. But he seems to feel free to do so when he's safely hidden behind a computer screen.

It's so sad that people behave this way. I'm very dissapointed that SL is becoming a haven for this kind of activity. Maybe it's got something to do with the free accounts... people often value something based on what they paid for it.

(And Debeenz, I wasn't cheezed at Ginger. I was upset at the idea that Ginger was being assaulted by someone with such a poor outlook on life)

LOL well I would say the moment someone wants to pay my bills at LL they have a right to stand in judgement of any and all of my accounts. That ain't gonna happen so they can piss off.

I just don't see the point in complaining and publically bashing someone that has ticked you off, and no I'm not just saying that because the person in question is my friend, I would say that about anyone, I mean can't a matter like this be dealt with in world without pulling in outsiders who have nothing to do with it?

But I do agree that some people in SL can be pretty narrow minded, mean and self obsessed, but I'm not going to grumble about it in the forums.

Debeenz, I cannot even talk to this person let alone try to make them understand. When they are sitting there saying such things to someone and set in their ways about people it's really HARD to talk to someone like that.

I take it to the forums because this person has insulted a ton of other people due to her ignorance. It is a public matter when she continues to act that way in a public place. Let's say that I was a newcomer ,I goto the WA and right off the bat I get called a "whoring alt" without even getting to defend myself I get judged by some egotistical moronic child. Wrong or right? Do you honestly think some noobie to SL would stay here after being called things like that?

Even if I did bring this to private messages on SL do you honestly think what I would have to say to someone like that would matter? She would continue to keep going on and on about how "slutty" people are and how people are "whoring alts" and that all alts are hiding cowards . I am not the only person to sit here and get insulted by her,others have. I just feel the need to make a point about it.

You know, I have a simple way to deal with the ars-hats of SL.

I mute them. It's right there. The moment they become a petty annoyance before I've even gotten the chance to know them, I don't bother to move forward.

And, if they get more agressive? I grant them an 'invitation to the world' and advise them in the most polite possible way to bugger off. If they will not, then I either ban them, have the person I'm visiting ban them, or take my friends with me and leave him behind.

But get riled about it? You tell me: Is a person like that worth it? I personally find them mildly amusing, and send in the abuse report with a shrug. And why do I send in the report if I don't find them that worthwhile?

Because other people have thinner skins than I do. I get rid of the twit so that they don't have to.


Anyway, just remember who you're dealing with in these cases. A 10 year old mind allowed into a bar...
