Found this on the Community Page and thought others might be interested in case they might have missed it:

Join us in-world for the Community Roundtable meeting on Nov. 2nd at 4pm SL Time at Pathfinder's Place Ambleside (50,100). The Linden Community Team will be answering questions regarding Community issues in SL, discussing ideas Residents may have to help improve communication and feedback, or just meeting new Residents who'd like to stop by and chat!

We've also created an automated mailing list that anyone can subscribe to, and all 5 members of the Linden Lab Community Team are already subscribed to it (Robin, Jeska, Jesse, Blue, and Pathfinder). Not only does this list send out reminders of and transcripts from our monthly in-world meeting, but anyone on this list can send email to all the members of the list! We hope Residents will use this as a way to not only share ideas with our Community Team but to also have community-related discussions as a group. Subscribe to this list by sending an email to community_team_roundtable-request@lindenlab.com with the subject "Subscribe" (no quotes, just one word).

The wording is strange, like it's come from a Linden. In which case, why aren't the Lindens announcing this? I'm confused.

Looks like he took one of Pathfinders old announcements and restructured/worded it. Didnt LL have a 'preacher' position open a few months back? Either way I dont care. Rick is in SL alot and he must enjoy it so more power to him.

Is it too late to put it in the Events list ? It would be good to get a reminder if I'm online at that time.

They did announce the mailing list a while back, prior to the previous Roundtable meeting, which was at a Euro friendly time (they alternate each month from Euro friendly meeting time to US friendly meeting time, correct RR?). Anyone who bothered to subscribe gets these notices along with the aforementioned transcripts.

Could it be that the first-person plural pronoun and first-person plural possessive pronoun are used simply because ReallyRick subscribes to the Community Roundtable list? Just a thought. :D

I'm guessing Euterpe's right. As another subscriber to this list, I'd like to point out that we're planning on creating an empire using non-subscribers as slave labor.

Or it could be that he's quoted it directly off the Community page from this very same website.

But naw, it's more fun to try and out him as a Linden.

(Don't you people ever leave the forums? ;) )

No, it's more like there are about a gazillion different methods that the Lindens use to put out announcements and so it's very easy to miss things, and it's becoming increasingly fragmented with mailing lists for this, that and the other popping up.

And no, the community page isn't a page I visit very often - generally there's nothing much of interest there. In fact, looking at it now there's only one thing there that wasn't also announced in the forums - the one we're talking about.

I do *so* love to be right ;).

Note to self: Be in-world this evening (can't make the Roundtable :( ) to talk Taco down. This is madness you are talking, man. :D

It was announced a month or 2 ago by Jeska. The Community Round tables are held the 1st Wednesday of every month. I only remembered because I had scheduled a reminder in Outlook when I first read the announcement. Yes, I'm a dork.

Yes, it is easy to miss some announcements. No disagreement there. I just found it amusing that since ReallyRick didn't miss it, he must really be a Linden! *gasp!* Personally, I'd have looked around the website to see where I might have missed the info before I started trying to out someone, but that's just me.

As for the mailing list.. I joined up when it was first announced, and unsubscribed within the same week, after several long-winded and rambling emails from someone who was no longer allowed to post their long-winded ramblings to the forums.

You're kind of assuming that I didn't, and I did :) I never thought to check the community page as it's never been a place I've checked for announcements, as I've never known it have an announcement on it that wasn't on the Linden 'Announcements' board (you know, that board they generally use for all their announcement?). But that's just me *shrug*

WHOOOPS! :o Hey everyone I just woke up! LOL And my PM box was filled with messages. HAHA.

Yes I copied it right from the Community Page. It was like 4am or something my time and I should have been clear that it was an annoucement on that page.

I had no intention to mislead or anything like that. Just one of my "make me sleepy so I can go to bed - reading the forums" mistakes. :D

Is there a central place showing all the mailing lists one can subscribe to?

I am not sure about that, the only other mailing lists I am aware of are:
Want Advance Notice?

We're putting together a list of interested SL residents who want to be notified by email about upcoming software updates. The email will go out approximately 18-24 hours in advance of grid downtime, alerting you so you have time to complete builds, transactions or other important business before we go offline.

If you'd like to sign up, send an email with your email address in the body of the text to jesse@lindenlab.com, and we'll add you to the list. Read our privacy policy.

The notice is posted on the community page, on the community team board at the WA, and was MOTD when I logged in a few hours ago. (EDIT: Also on the mailing list twice since the last meeting). Kind of hard to miss. From what I saw just before I had to leave for work, it looks like the US timeslot meeting is going to either (a) need more capacious venue, or (b) those people who want to be in on it will have to turn up an hour or two in advance.

At 3:55, the sim was full, and there were disappointed green dots all around it.
A lot of them. Looked like over a hundred people tried to show up.

Congrats, RR ... this is how you earn big FIC points. :)

This slick move has moved you up half a rank, and a bronge wing for your lapel.
