I understand what you are saying here...

I try not to limit myself. People who steal and and profit by illegal means pass that cost onto the rest of us. Again, I admire your zeal and sense of justice, but feel that you are focusing on the small issues. Just my opinion though, not meant as a personal attack on you. As Tsukasa said, what costs are they passing on? The owners of these copyrighted items don't loose anything from it. In fact, some of them gain from it. Having posters up on the wall in a SL store is actually advertising for whatever is on the poster. Many companies give away free posters just for this reason. Logo's on shirts work the same way. The objects that play the songs do so very poorly. They are choppy and low quality. No body would use them to replace real mp3s. There is also the arguable point that they might even inspire someone to buy the music in rl. I sort of view them more in the terms of fan art than copyright infringements. My whole point was that they really aren't a big enough deal to go on a crusade to stop them, as they are pretty much harmless. |

Listen, I have said I should not have posted this. What more do you want from me? I have asked the Lindens to close this thread as it is nothing more than a vehicle for people to continue to bash me. I am a narc and no one likes that. Police don't like me. Evidently I am a "grammar school tattletale". You win. I lose. What more do you want? |

My recommendation would be that you set up a business around this endeavor. Someone is going to eventually; may as well be you.

For you to understand why everyone was so upset? I'm not upset. I do, however, find the attitude of people who support the illegal sale and personal profiteering from what they didn't create upsetting. SLers get angry when someone pirates their work, but look away when it's someone else. Imagine if I were to join this crowd, hijack skins and clothing, make minor "acceptable" mods to them, call it "Fair Use", and flood the market with freebies. |

Just give me a shout in game. I would be happy to show you the vendors selling full length songs and albums of music in Second Life. I would also be happy to teach you how to use the "Find" feature. Perhaps you could teach some of the Mentors how to get to to the Waterhead welcome area. _____________________
