We out in Kendall are just fine now, and got power some seven hours ago.

I actually live in North Bay Village, so it took us longer than Miami Beach to get power back because we are on a different power grid than they are (my bedroom faces the skyline of Miami Beach, so it was maddening as hell to see it lit up for the past three days  ). I am just so happy to have power back. Tomorrow I will deal with figuring out what is wrong with my car and venturing out to get some food. I am glad you are safe, Jeffrey - I was shocked to see FPL's website saying that places north of Kendall Drive would have power restored by Nov 22nd. I was prepared to leave tomorrow no matter what - I couldn't take another day of no water/no phones/no power. Part of it is my fault for not being prepared enough. Lessons learned, I suppose. Take care.

It's definitely good to hear from you, Cris, and Schwanson, and other Floridians. Man, you guys who live down there in "hurricane alley" are tough, that's all I've got to say. One season of having this many storms come through and I'd be so out of there.

Glad to hear from our fellow Floridians & that you guys are (sorta) back w/ us. I am in west central Fla & we have been sweatting bullets this season, having got 3 'caines last year here. Bless your hearts- I have so been there & I feel ya.
