You thrive on attention (talk about high maintenance :D). I wouldn't be surprised if unwanted attention was your favorite kind. :p

It's true, Mac. It was unintentonal, obviously, and an apology was issued. I'm sure everyone felt better for that. ;)

Yeah.. that apology likely made everything all better.
Good grief.. that must be the height of secure feelings and warm fuzzies in Linden Land.

i choose my audience, Margaret

this topic is quite valid in my mind, its not conflict

how do you feel about the subject, Margaret?

as for being high maintence, i tend to be the opposite... i give a lot of attention, and then i disappear... i value space, so sometimes the best policy is making sure space happens more often than togetherness

plus, it keeps things less predictable

and unwanted is a bad analogy, more like confused attention

how do you feel about the subject, Margaret?

Expecting total control over your environment (the internet especially but not exclusively) is futile. It's wise to endeavor to do so and to expect others to do so on your behalf but not understanding that shit happens anyway is naive not to mention unobtainable. The only safe thing to do is to stay in a tight cocoon and wait for a unexpected act of nature to laugh at your resolve and take you out.

this is privacy in SL i am talking about

read the police blotter, the guilty are shielded

the reporters of the "crime" are shielded

Why shouldnt a member of SL in good standing not have the right to a controllable amount of privacy in regards to themselves?

LOL i was about to reply to the first one and ask why i didn't get this email, but then i looked at the last post's date.. I only owned mainland parcels back then. XD

If you read my post history FAR BACK i remember a few topics where i argued about "we need invisable online status mode" and "better friends list". I just wish LL would have done it. Well the friends list is mostly like i had imagined. It's sorted by status and easy to read. I still wish to hide my account's online status at times so i can work without people trying to map me and bug me to death.

This was only to the concierge list though. which holds up what I've said all along.

don't fucking buy land from Linden Labs. :P

we should just wait for Anshe Chung to buy all of it and then allow her to give us the gracious gift of paying her more to rent it out.

Yes, this is SL we're talking about and privacy, that being being the unlisted number of your OP as well as other ways people try to convince themselves they are in control, is a wierd thing to pursue in this context. In this place, you can expect to happen across anyone and everyone, sometimes good sometimes not so good.

Would you filter out anyone with a record here if you could?

no but i dont need to be listed in this virtual "phone book" either

my phone company allows me any number of options as to whether to list my number and what to list

in secondlife, i am just a click away... from whoever wants it... i have no way to stop them from contacting me or know that i even exist in the 1st place

It comes with caller id. If I don't recognize the number, I have no problem not answering.

I just know that you're playing a role (Steve Martin or Dan Akroyd as the Czech brothers comes to mind) because you cannot be for real. Seriously, Mulch, I'm sure you realize that even if I were incined to dally on the internet - which I am not - this is so not the way to work me.

it is impossible to "work you" on the innerwebs

which is why i require 1st a phone number(ventrilo is fine if you are shy about RL numbers), next a visit , then who knows

then, you will instruct me on what you need to "work you*" (whatever that means  )

i dont know anything about you, but you can certainly fix that

of course there is an elemant of character acting going on here, but to truly seduce someone in public on the innerwebs... not likely... so might as well have some over the top fun as well... while im singing corny lovesongs to ya

but... you can't have a real fire without even an intangible spark
