Also diving boards, and swim fins for scuba diving.

Hah :p
Now if only we had rubber bannanas.
That is something I would like to see even more. Have material actually interact correctly. Not the, rubber bannana, yeah nvm.

But rubber settings that making things bounce. Or metal actually react as metal. By adding weight to the prim, etc. :D

Eh probably won't even be in havok 2. :o

I tried to make a flying carpet but I suck lol. I just messed around with a vehicle script but alas, it wouldn't work while floppy :(. Someone should make one though, so maybe you can wear it and have the animation so that you appear to be riding the carpet when walking, running, etc.
I thought of that too, but you have to be continuously flying to make it flutter out behind anyway. when you stop it hangs down like a wet noodle.

FlexiFacts!

(1) Currently, only Cubes and Cylinders (and their derivatives, Pyramids and Cones) are flexible-able.

(2) When you place down one of these prims, the bottom face becomes the "stick" point. if you make it flexi, the prim's bottom face will be fixed to its position. So placing down a cone and making it 10m tall, and then flexi... it'll become like a giant blade of grass.... rooted at the bottom.

(3) You can attach stuff to places on a flexiprim other than the base, but the prims will not sway with the flexiprim they are attached to. So you can't make a cone trunk of a tree and then attach a sphere to the top that sways in the wind. It won't work, the sphere won't move.

(4) You can link flexi and nonflexi prims in a single object, yes. It still is limited by (3) above.

(5) Objects with flexi are made Phantom automatically. No way around it.

(6) Flexi objects cannot be physical (not confirmed actually)

(7) Having 200 flexiprim objects does NOT //seem// to cause lag! Instead, the animation of the flexi prims slows down and frames are dropped to make up for it. It seems to work for me at least.

(8) Properties of Flexiprims are:
  1. SOFTNESS - How much curl it can do. Low values result in jagged-looking bends, high values make smooth curves :)

  2. TENSION - How 'rigidly' it tries to maintain its original shape.

  3. DRAG - Resistance to inertia basically effects how fast it'll bend or resist bending.

  4. WIND - How susceptible it is to wind effects. Essentially, higher values = pushed around more by wind.

  5. GRAVITY - Weight of gravity's effect, positive or negative. either it stands tall like a blade of grass (negative value) or flops like a dead Slinky (positive)

That's what I've discerned so far. :)

I've used them to make tufted ears, tufted tailtips, wingfeathers, and manes on the beaniegriffon so far. :)

I would like a whip. And I would like to change my name to Ricardo. And I will ride a black steed, and wear a mask, and I will buckle swash, and wear a cape.

Well there goes my idea...

There's a lot of things I expect to see that I don't necessarily want to see -- animated male genitals for one...

Well, ok, maybe that wouldn't be so horrible.

LOL! I thought of that too!

prisms too

This is annoying because while the axis moves to the base, the position fields do not update, making it difficult to move flex prims when grouped with non-flex prims. The pivot point should be adjustable on flex prims (and ANY prim, actually).

Make the root prim physical and solid and link a flex prim to it.

Turn on one of the "all local lights" options and SL'll start lagging after 6 flex prims and 1 light.

Spheres can't be made flexible, however. Best you can do is conical ones or just flex nipples.

Idea!

A couple of cones with a bit of skew on them *could* look like a couple of ripe perkies!

Unfortunately, flex prims can't be linked like that without fragmenting/splitting. :(
