Good to see you enjoying some good old fashioned fake violence SuezanneC
A couple points, yes combat is fubared in SL. I have plenty of guns to 1 hit 98% of defensive measures including tracking. I can boot you 13 million meters straight up above the sun, and crush your avatar (although I only do that to people who shoot me 1st) I didn't script them, I don't have that skill. I also have defensive measure that can protect me from 100% of weapons. I originally started PvP with a realistic Ak-47 running (yes running) through the streets of Jessie with a friend or 2 pretty soon I was getting orbited, nuked, 1 hit, rebooted, etc so, I had to adapt and now own a plot in Jessie There are a couple ways to have realistic combat (Frag Foo?) where you can shoot your friends on any sim and won't ever accidently shoot anyone else, but you need thier gizmos to make it work (kinda like a lazer tag thing) there are also realistic damage weapons that try to balance power and reload and such like that, but they wont do you any good if you get orbited and if your opponent has even the most basic shield When I used to go to Rausch in its old location, there were hardly any people fighting there. Jessie is about as peaceful as it gets these days, I haven't been shot at there in ages I wish I could pvp more, but 1 hit super push and power shields make it not so fair/satisfying. also SuezanneC, I beleive the hand of satan was removed from the game. You prolly got hit by the same device I use to orbit people 13 million meters up. There are defensive measures, but they are as unfair as the super push and the 1 hit kills I dunno, maybe Ill buy the lazer tag system. Would be fun to have a firefight in the linden recruitment center, or my nieghbors store =) but there isn't alot of enthusiasm in combat here, that I have found, because of the factors I have described _____________________
I have of late--but wherefore I know not--lost all my mirth, that this goodly frame, the earth, seems to me a sterile promontory, this most excellent canopy, the air, look you, this brave o'erhanging firmament, this majestical roof fretted with golden fire, why, it appears no other thing to me than a foul and pestilent congregation of vapours.

Is there anywhere I could get a free, say AK-47, to co-operate in these shooting games with? All I have is some revolver that takes ages to fire a second time.

If I identify a weapon by name it is because I got a message indicating it was a specific weapon. I've been hit by a thing calling itself the Hand of Satan more than once. Of course, anyone can create something and call it the Hand of Satan to increase it's market value.
