Bumpage.
If you're the linden that has been given the grim task to pull the plug, rebel to the system, chain yourself to the computer! Prevent this monstrous crime to be perpetrated!

Seriously... i can't care the less about following a very average and witless blog that doesn't even humour me and in wich i cannot post an averagely sarcastic comment without undergoing the shameful guillotine of randomized censorship.
The forums are important to the SL community. Shutting them down will only decrease the already dwindling faith many of us have in LL.

A wonderful, sincere post that I think says very well what we are all feeling right now. Thank you.

Signed. From every standpoint, LL is making a VERY poor business descision by trying kill a set of official forums in favor of a one-way blog that is VERY heavily CENSORED. LL, if you're trying to make your product look as if it has no rough edges by censoring the critical voices, in order to scare up more venture capital or to make your company/product look good for a buyout, you're deluding yourselves. You think the VC analysts and a potential buyer aren't going to look at the better known 3rd party forums too? C'mon, this is a no-brainer business decision. If you want to look good to VCs and/or potential buyers, demonstrate that you can actually *respond* to critical feedback instead of merely pretending that community concerns do not exist.
