Stalking

It's only been a month and I love it here. Over all, I have not met a bad person yet. I can do with out the bush signs everywhere and on top of me but even that has not effected the enjoyment I get here from all of you and SL.

Unfortunately that seems to be changing real fast. I have acquired my first stalker. It's an obnoxious person who has taken it upon themselves to harass me. They keep coming around shouting obscenities at me and harassing my friends, going into there houses uninvited and today I signed in to find several objects placed by them on my property.

I have taken the basic steps of banning them and all of that but I'm sure they will find a way to get at me regardless. So my question is what can I do about it?

The next time they come around and harrass you, file an abuse report. It's in the Help menu, if I recall.

Copy the text of what they are saying to you, snap some pics, and use the Report Abuse function under the Help menu. Make sure to include copied text and a pic of them near you.

If you don't seem to get a timely response from LL, call their 1-800 number.

Thank you. I found the neat little abuse option. I will use it. Question is, how many times will I need to do this before SL takes any action?

You should bring all the relevant information (chat logs, abuse reports, etc.) to the Lindens so they can investigate and immediately determine if this stalker should be written up in national news and magazine sources as a representative of Second Life.

And until you folks gave me advice, I had not recorded anything to submit so now I must wait until they strike again!

Also, is this a common problem here or am I just lucky?

I suggest a prehenptive strike against them, go tease them on their usual dweling. Use of the nyahnyah emote should do it.

Get a security orb, put their names in the banlist, get the roster of their groups, and put those in the list too. Set it to offline their asses.

This is probably the reason we don't have the ability to detect individual groups.

Maybe we can stalk each-other ?

I usually get short-term stalkers when I leave stuff out in a sandbox.... Of coruse, They're left their because I was disconnected or blown into then next hub code.
But I'lll occassionally get some noob begging me for some vehicle I left out. I tell them it's unfinished, they still want one, so I give them one, and the start bitching that it's nomod no copy. So... I'll just start tellingthem that untested betas are not L$1k.

But... I'm really just bored, so if anyone wants a stalker, let me know.

You folks are funny. I can't believe you have me laughing over this rather then worrying. I appreciate it. It doesn't seem so bad anymore.

I just wanted to add that maybe "stalker" was not the best way to describe this jerk. A harasser would be more descriptive, or maybe a fruit cake! Let me give you an example of this persons little games they like to play with me. Yesterday I was flying this new helicopter a friend gave me. I went to land it on my land but it would not lower down. After trying several time I figured I was doing something wrong so I jumped out and tried to use the edit tools to bring it down to the ground. That didn't work either. Well I flew up to it to take a closer look and found this moron sitting on the tail of the heli. Because I had them on my ban list, and they were attached to the heli, I was prevented from landing the heli so I had to eject this nut first!

is to report, report, report. It happened to me....stalking... and after numerous reports the issue was resolved and the perpetrator permanently banned. It is time consuming and stressful, but ultimately it does work. Good luck.
