Know of any?

I haven't been on SL long, but I have been around long enough to find a couple of RolePlay Sims that are amazing.

1. Crimson Falls - It's changed ALOT since I first started playing in the Sim, but it's still nice. Even if the lag sometimes is unbearable.

2. Haven - Great Roleplay Sim that's based off the Laurell K Hamilton books.

3. Silent Hill - An amazing job was done on this place. But again you might have to fight off the lag.

For RPing alone, would have to say the Barrens.
The Barren's is part of the Gorean continent, but is seperate in many ways. The land is based off of the "Red Savages" from the books.

The High Chief of the Barrens, has Native American blood in his RL veins and holds much respect for his heritage. So the Barrens has in a way blended both Gorean and Cherokee ways together to form someting rather unique.

Those of us who reside there are actually learning a bit about his heritage, including traditional dance, foods, customs, dress and even language. It's been rather interesting.

Not to mention that the the appearance of the Barrens is very different then most areas in SL. Even non-Goreans who are of Native American heritage have visited and comented on how authentic the camps are.

The barrens are lovely, and so is crimson falls and silent hill (I love the asylum at crimson falls).

With my tendency to try to blend in while visiting a sim, I have used a zombie av while in crimson falls, you would love the reaction when someone opens a door and you're standing there as a one armed burnt zombie.

Another rp sim is Liberty, if you are into capture/kidnap rp. Not my bag really but the sim itself is beautifully done.

Ahaha. I've seen you in Crimson before I believe. The aslyumn is very well done, the textures are amazing. Silent Hill would be nice if they would hurry up with the hospital.

Feel free to message me in game if any of you find any more roleplay sims, while i'm on ofcourse. ^.^

The seven Caledon sims. Incredibly beautiful, Victorian, Jules Verne-ish, steampunkish, well roleplayed regions, with some of the most polite and interesting people you will meet in SL.

Trolleys, trains, observatories, mad scientists, eccentric gadgets, shops with oddities and beautiful clothing, and on and on, :)

5 out of 5 stars.

Any PG RP areas that welcome people of all sorts of beings? (Furries, humans, droids, mutants, zombies, blobs) Somehow with Barrons being Gorean i don't think they will accept me since i'm a wolf who refuses to change her avatar for anyone. :) My avatar is my persona and who i am. hehe

I rather fancy Nexus Prime in the sim Gibson or the sim Suffugium on the rare occasion I've time to RP. Both are brilliantly built, lovingly textured, cyber-punk esque cities. Each unique in their own right and with many hidden interactive treasures, warrens, tunnels, and loads of venues in which to really pursue a RP to its fullest.

Go to Galaxy, home of StarFleetCommandSLQ. I'm not sure about the zombie part though. :)

Caladon is wonderful, but the Lag is Vicious. The people are cultured, and well spoken, and most of all, Polite. It is a Pleasure to spend time there.

The Barrens, Gor as it SHOULD be Role Played, with Honour, and Dignity, and Caring for all the participants. Welcoming, and Instructive to the casual Visitor all set in a Book Accurate environment. I have Known the High Chief, and his Mate for Many years now and if anyone was going to do Gor Correctly AND responsibly it would definately be Them.

Lawl barrens chat!

I have no idea, something about the barrens just brings the best and worst in people, regardless of whichever server they play on. Barrens chat is the best chat, bar none.

I have just started up a medieval RP area. I have many roles to be filled by dedicated, yet not too serious role players. We have most of the Tupi sim, and once i have my RL living arrangements dealt with we will be getting a whole sim to ourselves. So get in now whilst good positions exist.

Other RP sims I can recommend are Caledon, Nexus Prime and Crimson Falls.
If anyone is interested in joining us, please feel free to contact myself *King* Bulldog Liberty for a tour and information.

It should be noted that Mikal Snakeankle the owner of the barrens was quoted saying these exact words in reference to the barrens "lol this is NOT a rp sim", after of which the person was banned for trying to RP there. (I'm not making that up or joking at all)

The barrens is what I call a "cult gor" sim where the person read the gor books, then took them as a manifesto for how to live in the real world. They tend to truely believe that all women are indeed "naturally" slaves to men and will not be happy until they are enslaved by one, and vice versa for the men who are all "naturally" masters. Generally these people function exactly like a cult, except much more decentralized.

Ultimately, the Barrens is probably the worst place to RP in second life, through virtue of the owner's statement alone.

P.S.: Nothing says "I hold great respect for my heritage" like turning it into a slavery sex game. Yes, i'm sure natives like Wokova are simply ESTATIC that their culture can be used to better aid a mid-life crisis sex fantasy and beating women and forcing them to wear burka like clothing or skimpy sheer clothing to touch one's self too while prattling on and on about "slave fire in their belly" and the "gift of submission".

2. Haven - Great Roleplay Sim that's based off the Laurell K Hamilton books.

Really? I LOVE those books - re-reading the series for the 3rd time right now.

I've been to the Barrens. Not sure which Barrens you've been too, I saw none of that, what I did see were some very open, friendly people. That includes Mikal Snakeankle. I'm not Gorean, have no desire to be, but felt it needed to be said.

I never said they weren't open and friendly. Cultists are always friendly. You get more recruits that way.

Those words do NOT belong together in the same statement with the term "Gor" since they are complete contradictions of one another TYVM.

So far only Caledon has accepted my inner Gwiffy, though I don't feel terribly fits-in-ish. ^^

Mebbe I need a clockwork steampowered skateboard. ^^

You fit in fine just as you are. :)

What would Hogwarts be like without mythic creatures? Same with Caledon.

Fantasy + steampunk + magic + victorian = ubarly cool. After seeing Howl's Moving Castle, I've never seen the victorian look any good than it does after that. :D

Caledon is a very friendly sim with inhabitants from vampires, fae, furries to normal people who get along the Caledonian way. :)

Darkrose has moved to an Island
09-07-2006 08:48
Yes - Crimson falls is an incredible place, the attention to detail strikes a chord of my heartstrings.

Caledon is truly lovely - the culture, the setting, the builds, the attention to infrasturcture. I have visited a few times in the last week as well, after hearing so very much of its victorian flavor, a time when things were a bit simpler.

Darkrose, I would like to bring attention to, has just been opened in the last week, after a period of time on a partial land grant. We fled the mainland after that accursed calamity which toppled portions of the reconstructed castle, to an island that was once among the family's holdings. The palace is still under reconstruction from vandals and thieves, but I would invite any interested to hop the next tramp ship to the docks.

Besides.. new blood would be welcome.

Prince Gabriel of Darkrose.

--Wow, sorry guys, I did not intend to do the whol post IC. Caledon, and Crinson Falls, to name two, are great places to find RP.---

What is the theme of Darkrose? Is it a vampire rp?
