Small observation on packet loss. Yesterday I went to help someone who had bought one of my house, 198 prims. While he attempted to rotate it, all the parts flew apart!. He was on a island sim and there was only 4 ppl there. When I tried to rotate another house of the same model I gave as replacement, I had no problem. We both have cable modems. He lives in the US, I in Canada.. I didn't check the data on packet loss. But this is very strange in my opinion.

I haven't noticed any noticable packetloss problems, and I'm clear on the other side of the country in relation to LLab.
This was even during my marathon 11-hour build session.

Thanks Torley, but I've always hated numbers and graphs. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???

Level3 are the bunch of yo-yos that created so many problems for us while we were attempting to stream the SLCC in world. They are very high on "my list". Regards, -Flip

I'm on the other side of the country from LL, too. My game has become distinctly less playable lately, that's all I know. coco

My ISP (Freetelecom, of Proxad) is connected to the US through Level3. No wonder I've had weird packet loss problems lately.

I guess the real question is... has Linden Lab® reached malachi saturation?

Apparently, not... Level3 was only down for a few hours intermittantly. The packet loss problems I've seen have been occurring for the last week for me. Did I mention that using Random Early Drop QoS policy with an unreliable transport mechanism (or lack thereof like with UDP) is a BAD IDEA ? But then not using any QoS on border routers would be equally bad...

I must have been mistaken

Please forgive me for having posted analysis that may have indicated that there was router congestion at Linden Lab's Data Center. I was clearly mistaken as was indicated in a recent Hotline to Linden response: From: Robin Linden While I can't say we never have packet loss, we have massive amounts of bandwidth. If people are experiencing severe packet loss, the more likely culprit is their ISP. I offer my humble apologies for suggesting that there could be a fault at Linden Lab rather than at the globally dispersed ISPs dozens of players. I withdraw my hypothesis as it was clearly refuted and I shall not assert such again in the future.
