I checked the Popular Places list today and my jaw about dropped when I saw that the #1 spot occupied by IceDragons as normal had their traffic at an outrageous 71639! Congrats for that.

Anyway the thing that I found interesting was there were 65 avies in the sim and the SIM Time Dialation was soild at 0.99 as well as the SIM FPS at 45. My client FPS was a respectable 13.1 but I have everything on except shadows and my draw distance was set to 250.

Could this patch be bringing the promise of "107 avies in a sim with no lag?" Will be interesting to see.

PS. IMO, camping chairs are lame.

I noticed those stats too when I was there earlier today. However, at the time it was when I was frozen at 0.6fps and crashed three times. Whatever those new statistics show, I'm still not sure exactly how they relate to overall performance. They definitely dont seem to relate directly to client performance.

Yeah, IceDragons is an interesting place.

I wonder sometimes if it is the future of the virtual universe.

I was there in the preview for the load test when we got upto 107 avies before we ran out of people so i hung around icedragon today after the update and saw the same kind of numbers we were getting in the load tests, although not reaching 107 i saw icedragon getupto 71 avies in the sim and only slightly stray off the magical 45 ps and drop to 43 with a dilation of 0.96, it should be very hard to tell load as it was in preview unless you look at the actual time (ms) and agent updates/sec and icedragon with 71 av's were getting 12 updates a second instead of 20, so as we saw in preview the higher number of people you'll start to see gray avies. But its definately looking good so far.

One funny thing I mused early on were how big casinos in SL were mostly crowded except for special events and game nites and whatnot. The atmosphere is shifting over the last year to one where THA HOUSE IZ PACKED 24/7! 24/7! Anyhoo. Just wanted to share that.

Can you possibly understand that what I find rude is telling people who had no trouble prior to 1.7 that it's time upgrade their client or to leave if SL isn't fun for them?

Why would anyone stay in SL if they are miserable??????
WHY?

I guess they weren't impatient enough to quit immediately and were willing to give them time to work it out.

That's WHY!!!!!!!!

Well an update like the last one usually does involve a client update, and the problem most people dont realise is what 1.7 is trying and hopefully now has achieved as it did in preview which 1.6 wasnt able to do and thats scalability, in the last 6 months or so the population of sl has roughly doubled and is expected to keep rising, 1.6 wasnt scalable in some respects to how manay avatars you could fit on a sim, with 1.7 alot of behind the scenes work has been done to improve that as can be seen in this thread, already in the first 2 weeks the production release is running sims with 70+ users and in preview we had that upto 107, unfortuently im guessing there is a scalability issue in itself from moving from the small preview grid to the main grid perhaps different types of asset server systems etc or just not issues that werent identifyable as people didnt come on and test like many of us did. Unfortuently a small selection of people are happy with the amount of work a bunch of residents put into the preview testing, even if they didnt take the chance to try it themselves.

He's been creating during that time, too. It troubles me when people who create good stuff can't. Or when the things they create can't be enjoyed due to performance issues which is the situation for a significant number not just a couple of whiny people with bad systems. What do you think about the posts where he expressed his concern that another company may pop up and blow SL away? I heard that exact opinion expressed last night from another person and from yet another 3 nights ago. Shuld that occur, how long will you stay on SL's bandwagon after your customers have gone?

I am getting sick and tried seeing sme person spam the forums with every RAH RAH Looka t what SL is doing now post ALL OVER THE FORUM. Its the same person doing this, and its getting very tiring!. I wish they limit the amount of post a person and/or create in a day or week. Or Atleast tell him he is doing more harm then good. I hate can spam and what is worse is forum spam! this post is not about you Margaret Mfume :)

I don't see anyone really "spamming the forums with every rah rah look at what SL is doing now." If you were refering to Torley I think he just is a very positive and optimistic and there isn't anything wrong with that. He is so helpful and I bet almost every one of his 7,000+ posts were enjoyable or was beneficial to someone. There is no way anyone can be "doing more harm than good" in situations such as these.

Certainly people are going to post their Hotline threads and others thanking LL for finally taking care of problems. Even though this is the way SL SHOULD run at all times, I find the vast majority of residents are very nice so naturally they are going to say thank you when something goes right for them.
