Yep, i decided why not do some good? I loosly followed the rules to the tailer contest that just passed and put together a commercial for secondlife. I wanted something to show my RL friends so they dont look at me stupid when i start talking about things in secondlife LOL please be honest.. tell me what sucks about it and what i need to change, also please post what you like.. this is only a rough draft of it so it will be changed! Anyway.. thanks guys
 Also let me say thanks to Taeja Diaz for writing the bulk of the narration for this film, if you dont know taeja your at a loss.. she is smart as(please excuse the language) fuck. thats the only way i know to put it! Will you please keep this link constant so I can share it with my friends? I don't care if you update the version that shows when you click the link, just keep the same link? LIKES . Da Voice (love the brit accent) . Da Concept (seeing it is 1,000,000 times better than hearing about it) . Showing simple elements first (edit object) then jumping to complex (castle etc.) . Showing both pastel day and local lighting lit evening shots WISHES . Ok to share the link now with friends? . Willow's voice volume drops in the middle, then resumes loudness... even it out (I think it's where you show sample avis) . Yes, Willow's voice damn near turned me into a heterosexual.
The content, the way it was worded, was all awesome! As far as any constructive criticism, only thing I can suggest off the top of my head is put some music in the background, maybe add some more footage. You're getting better with each video, Billy, keep up the good work!_____________________

I think there are around 1200 (or more) regions, not 250 lands, so double check that stat. Looks pretty good for the rough draft.
Maybe a generic background soundtrack throughout. Music is tough though, it has to be a good pick because it effects the whole feel of the production. The AC/DC music at the end was a little jarring. |

Thanks for your input.. i was thinking about putting background music and had a issue picking the type of music to go with because it does influence your mood so much.. 1200 regions is more than 250.. the video says.. over 250 lol_____________________

I liked it very very much. Now I need to hire Willow for voiceover recordings too. =) Probably my only gripe (and it is a small one to be sure) is the framerate. Granted the clips are already recorded and cut. OTOH, is there any way you can optimize your viewer a bit? What program are you using for vid capture? For promotional work, >5 fps is a Good Thing.

The drop in volume is where you cut to showing the nightclub shot.
I don't think you should add music... at the end where it is is better, I think. I posted the link for my friends... hope you don't get bw issues... Oh Billy I love this! What I liked the most is that you were not afraid to show some technical details like building and scripting, but that you balanced that nicely with Willow's beautiful voice. I can't wait to see the finished product!

What I "do" right now is fly around in a 3D world that has a lot of structures and a lot of other people in it to talk to. . In terms of customizing your Avatar shape and clothing, think "Sims2" . In terms of talking to other people, think "Yahoo IM" but after that the comparisons fail... . I have been to an amusement park with a funhouse, giant slide, and a ferris wheel . I have been to a forest with a beautiful sunset view and stonehenge monument . I have been to a new opening of a dance club owned by a new friend . I have driven a jetski in a sheltered bay and flown a helicopter through the sky . I have given advice to two other new friends, one building a scifi club, and another building a glamorous fashion modeling center . I have met a real-life graphic design artist who specializes in realisitic looking avatars... . And slowly but surely I am finding people interested in building ancient Egypt here (snaps back to reality) does any of this help communicate? it's very... different! lol _____________________

But my point is, THINK about how WIERD this whole thing sounds "at first". GOT to find the words that get it across enough for folks to try it, or at least to view the commercial. Well the issue is sitearm is that i do not want to compare it to anything else, as in the first 45 seconds of the video it says.. secondlife is like none other.. and i think that is true. Although some parts of it do resemble some details but they are only details of communication, i could say that talking in sl is some what like talking on the telephone but your only typing.. thats true about any communication client almost. I dont know how else to portray it.. its alot.. i mean i struggle in RL to answer friends questions.. when they say what can i do here.. i say anything you can do in RL from (excuse the language) fucking to building, and usually that gets their attention..either that or i just take the cheap way out and show them some of my screenshots from the leader boards then show them how much usd that goes for LOL Taeja, a pleasure to work with me? are you sick! lol i was honored to have you write for me, as you know i can mumble off alot of stuff but putting it on paper is where i lack serious skill.. thanks for listening to all my ranting and ideas and putting it together in what i think is one of the best scripts made..ever <3 _____________________

The voice. :nodnod: As for SL spirited music, maybe find some Torley mixes I love Frogg, but his music is sort of mellow for the mood this vid was suggesting to me, especially with the effect on Willow's voice reminding me of the voice you hear in a mech cockpit ... I think, especially if this is maily for your friends, you should deffinatly amp it up a bit with some 'choons. and maybe show some more action going on, as even though it felt like a rock video, it was sort of sedated with the tringo and empty store locations... but, I digress.. its still bad-ass.And yes. I spelled deffinitly wrong. _____________________
