This thread titled, Second Life Promotion in Education Sector,
prompted me to make this post. Linden Lab is quite dedicated to bringing the Second Life platform to educators and academic researchers at all levels. Their promotional activities include travelling to conferences such as the Serious Games Summit, Games for Health, State of Play, and Games Learning and Society to discuss the possibilites of using Second Life for education. The educators already using Second Life, with the help of Linden Lab, have already created a small community.

Here is a list of resources:

Yeah, that's an interesting thread.

I've talked to some people in world who are doing that.

It really is starting to sound like LindenLabs may take over this area rather than let it be lead by residents.

Which isn't that suprising. Check out activeworlds and other virtual worlds.

Education is big business and I'd be suprised to see LL just give that away.

Cristiano's thread on inventory loss got me wondering if any educators have had a student tell them, "The SLog ate my homework."

Please provide links. Would like to know what you are basing this upon.
