It's like one of those Chef Boyardee beef pillows you bite into, and it's all warm and gooey inside.

It's kind of intensified passion, actually, and as such, can be quite draining.

Y'don't say. ;)

Furthermore, as Second Life goes to the Metaverse, and this becomes an open platform, Linden Lab risks lawsuit in court and [attachment culling] will, I repeat WILL be reverse in court.

I was thinking the same today, Eggy. SL doesn't allow for nearly sufficient multitasking at this point. It'll get better, though, as hardware improves.

Hell, look at Half-Life 2 and imagine trying to make that run on 1980's hardware. The impossible today is taken for granted tomorrow.

Yeah, I know. I remember how bloody LONG it took to boot Netscape 3.0 on my 486... I stuck with 2.0 for an eon. Thing is... I can't *choose* to boot SL 1.0 and nobody else can make a lean, mean, metaverse browsing machine, since SL is all closed and proprietary.

Currently for me, SL is like an extratasty hot pocket of Internet's big soup. It's like one of those Chef Boyardee beef pillows you bite into, and it's all warm and gooey inside. It's kind of intensified passion, actually, and as such, can be quite draining. Related... Flip amig0 has some things to say on the matter.

SECOND LIFE = I MEGAPHONE
I have never cared to have soup in my pockets.

Remember, for most folks who use the internet, the WWW is the internet, as far as they are concerned. Having asked a few what they think handles email, instant messages, and whatnot, they shrug and say, "I don't know...but it's not the Internet."

It's like confusing a shell with a kernel. After all, you never really interact with the kernel, so the shell is all you have to go on. Labels become confused. The service is mistaken for the server.

Where am I going with this? Out the door, hopefully. It's late, and my weekly maintenance cycle is done.
