Sometimes there is a checkbox for "Wear item(s) now" that is defaulted to checked. I've walked around with some pretty funky outfits.

Just as a query here, is the Help radio to be supplementary to getting assistance from greeters/mentors, or instead of?
I ask this because there are people that are still on data limited internet access (eg a lot of Aussies are limited to 12 gb or less per month download and with some ISP's upload is included as well). So streaming radio is never an option, as it would probably push them over their data limit.
There is also I am sure, a few hearing impaired players that obviously will not be listening to streamed anything.
Things I would have liked to know as a newb :
How to sit.
How to buy.
How to take things out of a box.
What the best settings are in preferences for graphics (they are set very high by default).
How to dance.
How to build, link, texture, etc.
How to add a friend.
The various bits of terminology used in SL like grid, prim, sim, etc.
How to protect myself from a griefer attack (ie sit on a box).
How to buy land.
How to set options on land correctly, and how to set it to a group so other members of that group can set home to there.
What the debug menu is.
How to make my profile.
Where to buy good quality and affordable clothing, hair, shoes, etc.
I know there is more that I can't think of right now, but that is a fairly good list of the issues I had starting, or have heard newbs ask.

I wish I would have known that when you teleport to a place that you don't actually land there, you must fly...but hopefully that will change soon
