Relatively New and Looking for Neat Places!

Hello all!

Relatively Newbie here, and I've been spending the last few weeks window shopping, surfing the forums for new ideas and items and areas, and other such things.

And then I realized in a casual chat the other day that there are huge parts of this place I KNOW NOTHING about.

But when I try and "search" in game, I come up empty.

So I'm asking you guys, the community, to give me some ideas of neat places I'd like to see and visit and become a part of as well as any ideas you can give me with tips on how to find places I don't even realize exist!

I'm into fantasy and scifi - so I was amazed to find out last night there was a whole Star Wars area (yea I had no clue! huh...).

I very much am in SL for Roleplay - no erotica really, but woudl like to know what groups out there are active in Roleplay, and what areas are more Roleplay intensive or friendly rather than talking about av's and scripts :).

So any suggestions would be great!! Any tips for finding these places woudl be great!! Just let me know where you Roleplay fantasy/scifi types hang out and congregate!!

HELP ME GET INVOLVED!! *cackles*

(and of course if I'm in game you can contact me there too)

Taco (not Tacowood) is a must-see. It's not a Sci-Fi sim, and it's in the middle of renovations, but it is very well done. Visiting Taco is like stepping into a Cartoon. I highly reccomend dropping bay and seeing it at least once.

Just be sure to read the rules that are right next to the teleport pad.

Howdy! Hopefully people have been busy finding some cool places for my website, give it a try! And if you're out exploring yourself you can earn a few L$ through my quickie region parcel survey jobs (detailed on the home page). Currently I can recommend checking the galleries first, then the parcels list, which are displayed grouped by their "Find" category. If you want o check out this list of over 600 places try this link:

Seems like there's a sim called "The Future" that might appeal to SF fans. I liked it.

Put Alien, Star Trek, Matrix, Science, Science Fiction, Sci-Fi, SF, Battlestar, etc. in the search engine and check out the stuff that looks interesting in the results.

There's an open join group called Science Fiction Rangers for SF fans.

The Sci-Fi Geeks museum , in Indigo, should be nice

ooh groups!! Science Fiction Rangers..I'll be joining that when I log back in tonight or tomorow! sounds cool.

And yea these are the types of places I was hoping I'd get feedback on - thanks!! And I"ll be visiting those websites too :). I know there is more out there than most of the generic shopping areas I've seen :) - though I have been specifically window shopping.

Keep'em coming and thanks!!

Suffugium. It is one of the most cohesive and downright cool sims I've seen, and cyberpunkish too.

Someone mentioned Nakama already. There's a big 2-sim wide "city" at Gibson (I think?). It's awesome. There're, like, 3 street levels, a transport system, sewers... It's good for exploring. Very cyberpunk, if you let that fall udner the category of "sci fi".

The sim Satyr is a must see for anyone, it changes from month to month, you never know what you will find there, and they have some of the most talanted builders/scripters around

Svarga is gorgeous and a must-see in my opinion. It has a sort of prehistoric feel to it and is really thought out with animals, insects, active rain clouds etc.

Devil's Moon is also fantastic and rummaging around playing with stuff in Abramelin's store is always a laugh. The reflective street amazes me.

Crimson Falls is RP that is not sexual - zombies, mental patients, vampires, etc. Fun stuff.

Suffugium - yep, i second that

Tusk - is a great sim to explore, gothic but not the typical stuff you see everywhere else. The tp system is horse that rides you around. :P the build is really gorgeous.

Chaos - if you like he sci-fi and cyber punk stuf..hell even if you dont, this is another must -see. Amazing build, interesting stuff to see and lots of hidden nooks and crannies and oddities to discover. i think i spent like 3 hours there when it first opened just wandering around.

Foo - yep, i agree, fun build

That's all for now. Welcome to SL and happy exploring. :)

ok I can't get either "Devil's Moon" or "Svarga" to show up in the search.

I've tried the overall search, the places search, and the classifieds.

Any suggestions?? :)

I'd strongly recommend Riverwalk ... there is generally an on-going art display and an extensive, very well laid out park ... much like you would find in any riverside park.

And if you are interested in building, check out the Ivory Tower.

Welcome to SL :)

Query "Abramelin" in your search. It is a store located in Devil's Moon and will help you to find it. I went there to buy some dances, then went outside and my jaw dropped. I spent the next few hours dragging it around Devil's Moon, checking out the sites, and being astounded by the reflective streets. It really is a must-see. Nexus Prime is a pretty sweet city, too. I believe it is on the Gibson sim. It's all sleek and shiny on the surface and corroded underneath.

Exclusive Weapons (Store)

You'll not only find multiple amounts of weaponry from the best SL creators in game- but gadgetry and fun stuff you can use as gags. You may be surprised what that store may have to offer you. A MUST SEE!!!
