From: Beryl Greenacre Yeah, I figured this slow-down was on the bank's end. The weird thing is that the last time, I called my bank first and asked them about the money, and they denied any knowledge of a pending transfer. It's my understanding from having worked at a bank that the incoming bank does not have knowledge of it literally until it shows up on their network, which at that point it is almost in your account anyway. As far as GOM, I always thought they could keep on competing. Too bad the melodramatic histrionics won out. I've never had a problem with IGE in doing business with them in a year - any minor things that have come up have been resolved quickly with their support, including a potentially expensive bank wire decision I made that they were kind enough to undo. It is a shame that the payouts are so slow on the Lindex side, because everything else about the service is top notch.

revisionist histrionics?

From: someone ...As far as GOM, I always thought they could keep on competing. Too bad the melodramatic histrionics won out. You may recall that for about 1.5 months prior to their closure, in-game ATM transactions became unreliable for GOM causing them to have to manually verify each transaction which was unduly labor intensive. This would be roughly comparable to you having to manually approve each sale from each of your vendors except an erroneous sale from your vendor would cause you the loss of L$ for an object with a marginal cost of production of zero; for GOM, these errors would cause them the loss of US$ that they'd have to inject to ensure their customers didn't get stiffed. The "histrionics" you recall might refer to the fact that they were frustrated that their automated system worked fine for over a year and then "mysteriously" stopped working and Linden Lab offered no help at all to their ostensible "partner" presumably because they didn't want GOM to compete with LindeX (which was being written at the time). The funny bit is that Microsoft did the same to LL with regard to support for DirectSound forcing LL to make an unplanned change to use the FMOD library instead. Emulating business practices of Microsoft may help your bottom line, but it ain't something to be proud of.

From: Malachi Petunia presumably because they didn't want GOM to compete with LindeX *sigh* I really lament the loss of GOM. Yet another day passes, no sign of my money. Long and the short of the matter, if you want your money in a timely fashion.....don't use LindeX

Tuesday is a hardware update day. So much for any confidence in seeing PayPal confirmation tomorrow either.
Last Friday, Michael says its PayPal's fault, claiming it takes 2 days to notify me, and to call Monday if I have not received notice. So I do, then he tells me, they have only started working on last Wednesday's withdrawls and it should be posted to PayPal today. Well Michael, it has not, so I won't waste my breath calling you again.
I allowed 10 days to get the money I need into my bank.
Thanks LL for fucking up my plans to treat my BF to dinner on his birthday, and I hope the interest points you earned on MY money goes to a worthy cause.
Shameful customer service, if you ask me.

Ohh you people are transfering to real bank accounts? That takes days. Get a paypal check card, they are free and you can spend the money as soon as it hits your account. I don't think I have transferred funds in years. If anything I will just take it out cash and deposit it at the bank.

Thanks for that advice.

The PayPal debit card is nice - however, in Weedy's case, Linden Lab still has not transferred the funds to Paypal in the first place. Anyone who does have a Paypal account should take advantage of the debit card though - it is very useful, and definitely beats waiting to have it then transferred onto another bank account. The debit card works just like a Visa check card, and can be used anywhere you can use a credit card. I have been using the Paypal debit Mastercard I have had for years, I can't remember the last time I actually transferred Paypal funds back to my account.

Personally, I like LindeX. I've got about £80 worth of L$ that I don't really need. Where will give me the most £ for my L$? Anshe?

The kicker is that with the second major update since this started ready to go on preview, the problem with LSL *still* exists. Just a couple of days ago, someone paid an abandoned ATM and didn't get the payment refunded, despite the fact that the ATMs are now set to automatically refund *all* payments that are made to them. LSL flakiness in action.....

I'm having the same problem. My only guess is that the holidays are making for a long holdup and they just did get the masspay working not too long ago. Bad timing I guess.

I've just been counting on it taking the whole 5 days lately. If it gets there earlier, it will be a pleasant surprise.
