Was inworld and was logged otu by an Administrator. No warning, just booted. Now it's closed to all.

Anyone have a clue what's up?

~Jessy

P.S.
I did get to test teh Focus issue before booted. That's fixed at least =^.^=

The usual post-update issues that cause the grid to be reclosed after just about every update?

Considering the client wasn't even stable and was full of bugs *before* the update, it's hardly surprising.

Textures (and geometry!) not loading, time dilation in every sim, and random multiple sim crashings, for starters. And "friends online" hasn't worked for weeks!

Good time to add some new features, eh! :D

I think they are going for a speed record

How fast can we shut down after bringing it up.

( Suggestion for next week -
How about you keep it down for the extra 30 minutes and test a few things then leave it running - or invite a select group of 100 people to log in and test first before you bounce it ? )

I got a warning, but also noticed some strange stuff going on. Griefing cubes were on my land, and I couldn't ban the creator/owner of the the object because they couldn't be found in the system (even though they had a profile). I started to file a bug and AR, but LL logged me out.

I encountered these griefing cubes as well.

The first two I encountered at 740m in the sky.

The next two I encountered at ground level.

Sounds like yet another "grid attack".
I had heard this had happened a couple of days ago too.
Some people have entirely too much free time.

Yeah, I had that happen too. I figure that's why they brought the grid down again, to deal with this blast from the near past. I get the feeling we couldn't find the owner/creator was because they may have already been banned?

'no push' showed for me too. nice feature
as for the boxes, talking to a scripter friend...

" No, they'd be waiting for the sim to reset. You write a script that says save the time; wait 1 minute. Read the time now... is it 1 minute later? No? SIM RESET!"

it might explain the wonkiness of the grid too

Come on get real, sensible action from LL???
Got more chance of Prez Bush actually taking positive steps to counteract global warming.

Mind you i guess they did set a speed record.
Any bets as to whether or not we get an update next week, or will they actually transition to a bi-weekly update as indicated by Robin.

I know this has been pointed out in other threads in the past, but it apparently bears repeating: The problems that shut the grid down after an update are frequently things that only crop up when thousands of people swarm the server all at once. So inviting 'a select group of 100 people' won't really help. Similarly, waiting an extra half hour with just the Lindens on won't really help either.

Here's a thought: Instead of griping in the forums every week that the grid is down, why not go for a walk? Read a book? Take a nap? :)

I've been having modem troubles for the last 3 days. Today it blacked out like 10 times. It was hell trying to download the client with it doing that. Soon as i got it installed my modem shut off and i had to call the provider to reset it. That took about 20 minutes. When i finally got back online i tried to log back into SL and the grid was back down again... OMFG. :p

Considering this happens time and time again, why don't they introduce simulated logins ( fire 100,000 logins at the system before opening it ) , stagger the login system to allow one network area at a time to log in, or even build in a throttle ( god there are enough of those floating around in the system as it is ) so that an orderly queue can all get in slowly but surely..

I know the problem of 1,000's of people attempting to hit a system at the same time, I have written systems to cope with it in the past ( I think I read how to do it in a book once when I couldnt sleep :-) )
