I played WoW in beta and until I got my mage to 60. Tried a new character but was just bored. Horde side was fun though for awhile. Moved on from it also.

I just reactivated CoH and bought CoV last weekend as well. I played CoH in beta and the first month and then was bored to tears so moved on. It seems much better now, especially the villain side.

WoW can be a blast if you have the right people to play with. It's fun to play WoW a few hours and then come into SL to relax and socialize/build. It's a great combination. I don't find the WoW forums to be nearly as entertaining as SL's though. I'll miss this forum.

We deactivated for a few months, due entirely to combination of financial issues and boredom. Came back, the change was drastic and very, very good. _____________________

Waits patiently for Warhammer to give WoW a well deserved and long overdue deathblow... oh yes. if it's ever finished. ![]() _____________________

oh yes. if it's ever finished. ![]() Why shouldn't it be finished? Warhammer's development team is probably the most solid and experienced team currently working on ANY mmorpg, so i'm definately not worried... _____________________

FFXI is really good if you want community and no screaming 12 year olds. However, the reason there are no 12 year olds is that it takes lots of patience to get anything done, and it's all about teamwork from the very beginning.
FFXI was my first MMORPG. It's taken me 2 years to get to the highest level. I burned out after about a year and picked up WoW. Really enjoyed the prettiness and brightness of the game and the way you can solo just about anything. It took a few months to get to the highest level. On the other hand, I didn't feel like I was part of a real community, and I spent way too much time telling obnoxious kids to stop making gay jokes. Also you can solo your way to 60 and suddenly you have to play in huge groups and you (well I) have no idea how to play in a party. After 6 months I missed my friends in FFXI and went back. It's a very slow game, but you feel a great sense of accomplishment when you do achieve your goals. |
