On the off chance someone else in SL is a fan of the Arts and Crafts Movement

I've set up a cabin (made by Barnesworth Anubis) and decorated it in the Arts and Crafts Periodstyle. It's in De Haro if anyone wants to visit (De Haro153, 22, 23).

I'm aware I'm posting in the wrong forum, but really.. does anyone really care at this point? ;)

If anyone knows of other places in sl that are "typical example of this type or architecture and design" sort of places, I'd love to hear about them.

Oooh. William Morris! I'm in!

I once started an Arts and Crafts style garden based on Hidcote Manor for a client but the project was aborted when griefers forced her off her land.

I still have some of the bits in my inventory so I may rebuild a little bit of it in an empty bit of land next to my Japanese Garden

Arts and Crafts is the perfect style for SL. It's low prim!

Gorgeous cabin, by the way!

I live by the Gamble House and go there on occasion. It's a beautiful style. I even sell lamps that are based on Greene & Greene designs.

I love that room in the snapshot. It all rendered perfectly, and had good lighting. XD

Arts and Crafts is usually ornate (and beautiful), thus it's high prim. 1950's industrial crap using cheapest manufacturing methods is low prim.

Nicely done, Ingrid.

This is lovely! I'm a huge fan of the Arts & Craft style. Well done, Ingrid!!
I actually intended the next phase of Neualtenburg to be done up in the Wm Morris style.

It makes me want to curl up on your couch with a hot chocolate. It reminds me of my grandma's house.

Love the shadows on the ground. That's something SL is sorely lacking. It's cool to see builders make their own.

Awesome I love it.

I like the large rough beams and stonework combined with plush carpets
and furniture.

I'm crazy for Arts & Cravts movement. As an RL aside, you can still get incredible furniture from Stickley. I have a friend who has a recent Morris spindle chair from them. It was a whopping $2500, but is one of the most nicely built pieces of furniture I've ever seen and very comfy.

(Anyone have an SL Greene & Greene dining table and chairs?)

Ingrid, that's beautiful! We'll pop by and see as soon as we can log on.

My partner and I have a wonderful Craftsman home that was designed by Juro Kothari (which we've modifed somewhat), and which we've decorated with brilliantly-done furniture, lighting and fixtures by Jim Lumiere, Troy Vogel, Robby Mission, Kamael Xevious and others -- all these folks to breathtaking work. It's our dream home that we could never afford in RL. :)

I should get off my lazy butt and upload some pictures ...

We'd be very interested in a group of fellow Arts and Crafts enthusiasts, and would love to see more of this kind of design in-world!

I've got a dozen WMorris textures uploaded so far, and more all the time. If anyone wants 'em, IM me or join the William Morris Society group. :)
