From what I can tell, the W-hats (or related peoples) did NOT, I repeat, DID NOT, have anything to do with it.

They were just as smarmy as ever, sure, but they had zero implication in this.

My guess is it was either a lurker on the SomethingAwful forums who took Plastic Duck's script (still posted in an image, although he's since been permabanned from SA), or PLastic himself, coming in for, what, the fifth time under a new account?

Regardless, let's please keep this witch-hunt from starting. Again. It's not them.

This would probably be a good test case to sick the FBI on 'em, though... temporary data loss due to an attack is still data loss.


I'm not sure how you could get the impression that they DID NOT, REPEAT DID NOT do this from reading the threads in the SA forums. I seriously doubt they did, however, the constant nonsense always leaves room for doubt. Specifically a Dec 10 post noting that it is curious how these things always happen at appropriate times, for example just prior to updates, etc.
