I'm sure it was meant humorously.

Interesting

It was probably me. If I recall, you were standing in the Welcome Area sucking your own [male genetalia]. You then proceeded to start in to an animation that looked like the male half of a sex animation.
Two people, a volunteer helper and I, both told you that your behavior was inappropriate. Wearing women's lingerie on a male av in the welcome area was also inappropriate. I'm not surprised that this happened. You knew that what you were doing was wrong, and you even went so far as to try to cover it up by saying things like "what happened? I thought I was wearing pants!" Anybody who knows how to upload and use animations like that is certainly not enough of a newbie to not know how dress himself. It would appear that your forum privelages have not been suspended along with your SL login. So I would suggest that you use this time to browse the forums, learn about how people feel about rude behavior in the WA, and take some time to learn how not to behave in SL. I would suggest reading this thread while you're at it: /108/34/73825/1.html. This should give you some idea of how people feel about X-rated content in the WA. If it had just been the clothes, I never would have said a thing. It was the "dance" that made it disgusting. _____________________

Wearing women's lingerie on a male av in the welcome area was also inappropriate. Is this really a case of it being inappropriate to be clad solely in skimpy underwear in the WA or is it specifically because it was women's underwear? _____________________

Is this really a case of it being inappropriate to be clad solely in skimpy underwear in the WA or is it specifically because it was women's underwear? Whether it was a woman or a man walking round in skimpy lingerie it would occur to me it probably wasn't allowed.. But if it was that alone I probably wouldn't do anyting.. Just like Aurael. _____________________

Sensual, it would have been funny anywhere else. But I feel (and I'm sure others agree with me) that the WA isn't the place to do anything even potentially offensive. My first day in SL (this isn't my first account), I walked in to the WA to see a dead woman lying on the ground, a pool of blood spreading from her body.
Personally, I thought it was very creative, but not really WA material. I frequently find people fighting and having arguments in the WA. Personally, I wish they would go elsewhere to argue. The WA is a newbie's first encounter with "real" SL, and to come in and find people cursing at each other and doing other horrible things to each other, I have to wonder how long those new people will stick around. It's important for each of us to realize that the WA is NOT just another place in SL: it's sacred. It's the closest thing SL has to holy ground. If SL had a temple, the WA would be the altar. The WA is the single most important place in SL for people to behave themselves. In the words of another person: if LL bans one joker, they lose a $10 a month account. If they don't ban him, they stand to lose dozens of accounts. I bear no malice toward Street, even though I AR'd him. I dont' think it was actually my AR that got him suspended, though, since I got the "resolved" letter more than a week ago. Street has the potential to grow up into a valuable member of the community. I just hope he decides to contribute to the community instead of tearing it down. _____________________

Wearing women's lingerie on a male av in the welcome area was also inappropriate. Says who? Sometimes its pretty damn funny. Is this a real part of the TOS or Community Standards? I don't think so. The other shit, well that was wrong. PS: lets all lighten up before the rules make life in sl unbearable. Everytime I turn around there is a new "restriction" fuck that. _____________________

I presume (tho never having worn any myself ![]() The other thing not allowed is anything thats broadly offencive.. Now putting aside whether it was mens or womens underwear.. Anyone walking around in any kind of underwear outside the privicy of their own home/plot, I'm not gonna be thrilled to see.. _____________________

Wearing women's lingerie on a male av in the welcome area was also inappropriate. QUOTE] Since when? I take no position on the actions of the OP. but i do rsent the notion that wearing women's lingerie in the welcome area is inappropriate. Second life is about tolerance, and well if someone wants to wear lingerie in the WA, they should have the same rights as furries who are nude in the WA. As long as they provide enough concealment to fall with in the PG category, any mode of dressing is appropriate. _____________________

If brand new members are put off by things that seem silly to you but offensive to them, they aren't going to stick around to hear your arguements - which means they aren't going to upgrade their account and buy land. You have over 500 sims in which to express yourself freely by wearing woman's underwear or whatever you need to do to express yourself. I don't see what's so cloying about having some common sense "be decent" restrictions in the WA. _____________________

OK it's all fine and good that we want the WA to be a perfect "sacred" place for new residents, where nobody will be offended. My only concern is... What the hell is going to happen when the new resident walks out on to the main grid! We're all adult's here, correct? As adults I believe the newcomers will be able to sort through the riff-raff just as we have. We shouldnt worry so much.

I don't see what's so cloying about having some common sense "be decent" restrictions in the WA. By the terms of the TOS, Linden Labs has made a statement about intolerance. For me saying somone should be banned from the welcome area for being a male avatar in women's clothing is exactly the same as sayin g they should be banned for being a furry, or forbeing a robot, or a butterfly. Cory LL states your world, your imagination....does this mean "only if it fits within social norms in the welcome area?" If the lingierie was indecent, then it was indecent. But the mere nbotion of a male wearing womens clothes is not a question of decency. If a woman wearing a bikini is not tossed out of teh welcome area for being indencent, then a manwearing the same bikini should not be tossed out either. _____________________
