From: Cocoanut Koala For example, I keep supporting Lynn Lippman's take on the GOM thing, though she consistantly interacts with me in an antagonistic fashion on the forums. What we have in common is our position on the GOM thing, and whether she likes me or not is immaterial to me. The important thing to me is to try to ensure that the GOM situation doesn't repeat itself.
Dear gah, someone download decursive and get this curse off me. Coco, I disagree with many people on the forums, yet I am still friends with them. I just have a very hard time believing anyone who speaks in tongues.

Just thinking off the top of my head here, but maybe we should start a committee or group of sorts that would watch the MJW. I don't know... I'm not sure... They *could* be up to something.

From: someone I'm sure I'll be the 3343rd person to point this out, but isn't creating a politically influential group by drawing members with large land holdings... a bit of an aristocracy? The French even held a revolution over it. Where are our sansculotte?

From: Jauani Wu you are not authorized to represent MJW in public. i ask all readers to disregard any misrepresentations cocca might put forth in this forum particularly since her very membership to the group is under heavy ongoing reconsideration by the stakeholding officers. Since you probably know that attacks like that increase the credibility of the person you are attacking, I assume coco put you up to posting. Was Jauani attempting satire with his two posts, or did he actually err in espousing a point of view that looks bad enough that he is an argument against himself?

How about if screenpics were taken and shown in public?? Is it real then? From: Gabe Lippmann "Nothing is really real unless it happens on television." Daniel J. Boorstin

From: Lordfly Digeridoo Yes, it was quite real.
Even better, nothing really happened because of it. sure something did. LL tightened up their TOS to avoid any liability for loss of data or information, any recourse for LL using player content for marketing purpose, and any possibility for legal action against anyone abusing a brand as well as a few other goodies.

Yeah. I HAD to. I mean... I suppose I could make it a little shorter, but oppressionist regimes don't do small.

From: Nolan Nash We have equal opportunity now! Stop it! Yes we do. We have equal opportunity that we didn't have six or eight months ago, in several ways: The new Developer Directory, more announced contests for content, and a new PR Suggestion Box to make all opportunities more visible to all. (Plus announcements in the Announcements forum.) When I suggested such things back six or eight months ago, well . . . you know. For example, we have in the PR Suggestion Box right now a call for people for "Profiles for the webpage, etc." This is one hunka hunka fabulous, people! Although they have asked for these profiles once before (before my time), though not as visibly, they are asking now and in a visible way. (Whether they get many takers is a whole other thing.) None of this was a direct result of any actions of MJW, though its very existance, along with a number of people and groups expressing their desire for such things, no doubt helped. Some people will tell me that all these things were here all along (whether they were or not), but I was just too stupid to see them. They will say that we never really NEEDED a suggestion box, contests, developer directoris, calls for profiles, etc. I think we did need them, and I'm pleased we have them now, and they're visibly accessible to all of us. I think the Lindens have pretty much covered all they need to, now, to ensure equal opportunity for all residents. And I say, terrific job and thank you, Lindens!! coco

From: Jauani Wu equal opportunity = cocoanut got fic'd Haha, Jauani, no. It means an opportunity got POSTED rather than just handed to somebody they already knew. I did the work, applied, and was chosen. These opportunities mean people like me can participate, too. coco P.S. On the other hand, there's nothing like getting really well fic-ed!
