Find out what other sims are on your server!

Wow, Max Case has really developed a useful site!

Lee Linden has explained that each sim does not have its own server, but that there are either 2, 3 or 4 sims on each SL server.

Now you can look up your sim's name to see what other sims you share a server with on Max's site.

In case your sim is not on the list its really easy to register it. Max provides a link to an inworld location where you can tp and get this little device that automatically registers the sim number for the sim on which you are located. Just go to your sim, attach the object and it will automatically register your sims number. Then, enter your sim's name on Max's site to see what other sims share your server!

You dont have to own the land you are on in order to register the sim. This works on any sim you enter while wearing this device.

All servers should now be class 4s, just to FYI for everyone. Also the site would probably work better if sims were scanned regularly, sims change server pretty frequently.

They've dumped all the class 2-3?

Yeah, they made an annoucement a while back.

I still see a lot of Class 3 in the list, but it might be a class 4 aswell since there´s a lot of 3 sims in an Class 3 server.

That could be old info, jrrdraco. Does it say when it was last updated?

i kinda find it disturbing that private sims are on the same servers as the godawful laggy sims of the main land

so what we do to control lag on our private island can be all shot to shit by being on the same server as a main land sim.

un less being on the same server has no effect with respect to lag.

another question is what about restarts

i can restart any one of my 4 sims any time i want does that effect the main land sim that's on the same server?

Mine is clearly a class 3 Nex. Why do you say all should be class 4 now?

Right, there was a massive server upgrade where class 2 servers were eliminated but there are still a ton of class 3 servers listed. Do you know whether these class 3s are scheduled for upgrade to class 4?

Unfortnately the sims are moved around with enough frequency that you can't depend on the listing to be up to date. That's why Max encourages you to get his sim reporter HUD an fly the grid helping update info. It's fun to do and is a very good way to help serve the community. I highly recommend getting the hud and become an Wandering Updater.

I was having some difficulty with the 4:1 Channel Island sims surrounding Hollywood sim that we recently purchased from LL. So I went to Max's site to see who I was sharing with. Turns out the info was out of date. So I went to the sites listed with my Updater on and got them reregistered where they belong. That has solved part of my issue: i know who ISNT on my server. But unless some good soul happens to wander through the sims that ARE on the same server as I, I will not know they are there. So I encourage everyone to help each other out and search out the lands and get them updated in Max's program. If you update enough, your name appears on his page!

I find it disgraceful that island-sim owners should expect better treatment than mainland owners.

6 sims share a class 4 server! O_O Search for Kamba, lucky me, it's my sim. >_<

Thank you for this topic, and thank you to the creator of that site. I have been worried that my home sim was sharing a server with The Edge or Sandbox Island cuz it is extremily laggy. Now i know it isn't that. Odd though. It's only listing 3 sims on this server. but don't the lindens usually have 4 per server?

On a Class 3 server, there should only be 2 Sims.

On a Class 4 server, there should only be 4 Sims.

It says what server you are on under the list of sims.

better treatment absolutely NOT!!! i believe every one should be treated as equals I believe this with all my being.

better service from the company yes this i do believe is warranted. A client that is paying 1250 us$ a month to a supplier i believe should receive better service then some one paying 25 us$ a month.

But should a client paying 1250 a month for a private sim get better service than one paying the same or more for mainland land?
