who have already called the toll-free number (lol). How desperate am I? All I got was a recorded announcement from a lovely-sounding lady inviting me to leave an after-hours message.

I didn't receive the instructions to reset my password - in fact nothing is coming through on the email account I use for SL, not even the test messages I sent myself (it never rains but it pours). The "questions" page doesn't show up for me - I get the page telling me to ring LL.

My next task is to find someone who will knock me up a little plywood cube that I can gaze at fondly until access is restored.

I've done my best to keep busy - I went in the garden to do a little tidying-up. I right-clicked on the trees and flowers and nothing happened. Oh, and RL trees are not phantom, repeat - RL trees are NOT phantom.

There's an page set up to set a new password if you aren't able to get the email. I can't locate the url. It was at the bottom of a page, linked to by one word like "here", I believe.

Did you check your spam folder?

unfortunately it sounds like you'll hafta diagnosticate your email probs first, as it's a customized url for you to click first. hopefully that'll be the easy part - with your main email providers check to see:

1) if forwarding is set right on each of your email accounts;

2) any spam protection is set to 'moderate/check' at best (shy of 'forbidden/never see');

3) your pop/imap settings appear set correctly, esp. whether you're 'downloading and deleting' messages from the server, or whether it's just storing message (my own mailbox once got overloaded 'cuz i wasn't deleting messages off of my mail servers:\

and i hope you remember the answer to your confirmation question... i didn't have mine written down, but was lucky to guess right.

It wasn't a problem with my end, but with my hosting company. I suppose one of the servers must have been down. Shortly after midnight (or 4.00 pm SL time), the dam broke and a ton of mail flooded into my inbox, including the response to the zillion password reset instructions requests I'd made, all of which had now expired LOL. Within minutes I'd made another request and was back in SL. Twenty minutes later I was in a building class [SIGH].

There were a couple of odd things I noticed on my land, which may have nothing to do with this, but a little unsettling. I don't allow anyone to do anything on my land except visit and fly over. I have auto-return set to one minute. A couple of my objects had been moved, one onto my neighbour's land. Strange, but as I said, it may have been a glitch in the platform and nothing to do with this business.
