Sigh. First LL goes over the deep end, and now the residents are losing it too. There just HAS to be something in the water.

This kind of puerile immature crap and deliberate derailing of an important question is why the forums are being taken away from us.

Starting with "who do I have to sleep with..." is hardly a recipe for high brow discourse.

Whose idea was THIS and who do I have to sleep with to get MY store listed undeletably in every newbie's library????

Correction: I misunderstood this. It isn't in the newbie libraries, it is in EVERYONE'S library. I just went in game and found these landmarks in my own library. It must be some kind of mistake.

The SL Library is a non-profit organization. It hardly constitutes advertising for someone's store.

I could die a happy man if Linden Lab sealed off the General forum with this thread at the very, very top.

Oh for God's sake, Cocoanut, lighten up. You are flipping out all over the place. When have I ever even remotely expressed anything Puritanical? I am not the one running around talking about the evils of icky sex all the time, like your buddy Lewis. He was commenting on how immature the responses were. I just said that starting out the topic as you did, in such a loaded way was hardly the way to guarantee a civil discussion.

It wasn't a loaded thing to say, it was the OBVIOUS thing to say. However, I think now it was just some kind of a glitch or mistake, as it shows up in my inventory, too.

And you know dang well those guys just follow me around to pester me, and to be as gross as they can. Groupies, they are. Don't believe it? Look at the thread on SC where the pile-on is organized. (I believe it's called "Weeeeeeee".)

Would there be a cosmic scale disaster if you and prok appeared in the same spot IRL?

I apologize coco, it would not happen again, once again I'm humbly sorry.

Non-profit or not I'd hate to be the business that had to compete with a Linden recommended business.

For once we agree.

Whether intended or not, these selected places have been given a "Linden seal of approval and endorsment" and will automatically be assumed by new residents as official places to spend their time.

Not only is that very wrong on so many different levels, it is also a tremendous responsibility on the part of the owners. Let's say that a (ficticious) L$1 clothing store in that list decides to move or sell, and the land is bought by a XXX ageplaying gorean furry sex club instead. Linden Lab, of course, don't realise this, and then newbies looking for cheap outfits suddenly find themselves in the middle of something that would most likely put them off ever logging in again.

I am quite sure that, once again, this was a decision that was not thought through properly, thanks to the 'love machine' rather than solid professional management structures being in place.

This assumption makes you, currently, 0 for 2,894 in your guesses on why anything in SL or LL happens. wooo hooo! You're like a legend.

It's spelled Wheeee and it was an afterthought. Don't flatter yourself though sweet tits, you're thinking I follow you around is hilarious. You're in every goddamned thread on the forum bloviating your ego, how the fuck can that be called 'following' you ?

I have absolutely nothing to contribute to the thread, but I would end up regretting it in my old age if I didn't post something.
