Hold them horses, I haven't even began to exploit and abuse the HUD yet... lets wait a while before we re-break everything again for a week or three. ;)

I can't tolerate waiting 187 days.

186 days is my absolute limit.

This is just an expression of my dissatifaction with how things are working. Rez times are slow, textures load slow, the program crashes, time dilation and low sim fps spikes are common, and SL crashes a lot.

In the last two days I have seen two new users say they are going away not to come back because of performance issues.

I wonder if we will see that snazzy "2.0 renderer" in 1.8. It is the biggest thing I'm looking forward to in SL.

PS: Your sig is fucking huge.

What he said.

And in an unusual turn of events.... I've actually changed my mind on something! Imagine!

I thought it was silly when people said so the other day... but now I can actually see why people would put other people on ignore just for their signature. Generally, I want to see sigs... but yours is just ridiculous, and I don't see why I should turn them all off for everyone just because of you. So welcome to my killfile, Suezanne! But you can console yourself in the fact that you're in very exclusive company there :)

Surely the longer 'til 1.8 the happier you'll be? Things will get slowly better until 1.8 comes out, then we'll probably go all slow again.

Gonna hold by my opinion that the 2.0 renderer is scheduled for the 2.0 release (no, not just because the numbers are the same :p).

Yes Huns I agree, my sig is a bit big, isn't it? This overly big politcal signature image has a connection with an inworld problem, the annoying pro or con Bush signs that are being discussed in another thread. I have to say i oppose allowing images in signatures. I do wonder why the animated gif file I had before this one didn't arouse some hostile comment.
Perhaps I am already on most people's mute list.

I suspect that opposition to my signature image is probably related not simply to the fact that it is big but also to the fact that it is libertarian.

Too bad we can't put people and their objects inworld on mute lists, then the ugly signs wouldn't matter, But then it wouldn't be immersive and we would all die. Oh well.

------ addendum --------

fairwel, annoying sig image ....

Even if you ARE a part of a librarian group, Suezanne, that's no reason to have a gigantic sig, I don't see how the two are connected... ;) and thank you for taking the sig down, I was beginning to feel inadequate...

Oh my lord, I thought they spayed or neutered new clients before they released them. Crap, at this rate it'll multiply like rabbits!

The image in question was 440 by 175 pixels, in the event people planning signature images can make some use of that information.

I would suggest people take a look at Michi Lumin's Overty Large sig image - is that too big?

I could accept a 1.7.3, I'm not picky about version numbers.

Maybe we could have a customizable version number display in preferences, this could put an end to all the version number preference discussions ;) .

The problem of having people try out SL and leave because it works so badly would be a matter of concern to a game company, but for an oufit that is just doing research I guess it is all just grist for the data mill.

It is kinda bad when you have on the Mentor title for just a short while and the one question you are asked is "Do you know of any virtual worlds that work well?"

I would suggest that the relative size of images depends upon your resolution. If you are using a small screen with a low resolution then anything is going to look huge.

If they had a lover would they be spending their time monetizing, socializing, and networking in the Second Life platform?

Sadly, they had already gone through the drill of turning off all the good effects and setting the draw distance to where you can't see much. Their computers sounded like they were alright, and so did their internet connections.

Sigh, I just logged in , was inworld for a good 30 seconds, - Morris crashed and I got kicked out. The Welcome Area sims are crashing a lot.

--- addendum -----

It's only 5 or 10 minutes since the last crash and kick out from Morris - it's crashed again. Last night Bonafacio entered a state of partial disconnect, you could see it but not go in, not filled, reddish on the mini-map, the Linden staff apparently unaware after half an hour when I reported it. Things don't seem to be the normal flakey SL, they seem worse.

i always wonder if the sim had really gone down when the message says it has or is there a bug in the error message code?
