As a viking descendant I feel quite authoritative in being able to confirm your translation Kaz. And can I just add I consider the name to be rather apt considering the recent change of heart. And welcome back Kendra by the way. I'm looking forward to the next debate ;-)

It's more logical than "New Old Fortress"
Neualtenburg literally means "new old (walled) town". In the original proposal its primary architectural goal was to unite modern architecture (new) with medieval Bavarian architecture (old), playing off the curvilinear elements of the structures and street layouts repsectively. This juxtaposition can be seen to this day in the modern builds (bridge) and medieval layout (curvy roads).

So it's in fact quite logical. ;)

Have you seen Colonia Tovar yet? Here is a link, I was talking about this town the other day....

It even has clouds rolling through it at certain times. I though that N'burg was kind of modeled after Colonia Tovar when I first saw it.

Whoa! The resemblence is really amazing! What really makes it a dead ringer are the structures that are the same color and simple, boxy shape as the original city Fachwerk.
