integrating skyboxes into the tower design

This forum seems a bit dormant, but I thought I'd throw out the idea into the void regardless.

I've recently joined the Kazenojin and would love to see some life in the group again. One thought I had is that the tower in Gray seems to have taken a bit of a decrepit, neglected look to it. There also happens to be several skyboxes floating around.

I wonder if something should be done about the skybox clutter. I think if members would like to have their own private work areas, it would be a neat idea to integrate these into levels of the tower itself. Say every 25 or so meters gets a new level with someone's private workshop that looks to be a part of the Kazenojin complex.

It'd also be a good excuse to get rid of any builds that are apparently abandoned, maybe? The airship party last Saturday ran out of prims quick when everyone was showing off their various designs.

It'd be nice to have a working elevator again as well. If the current one keeps breaking, I offer to find one that hopefully won't.

These are just my thoughts about how to make the place flow a little bit nicer, but I'm not advocating massive revolt or anything. Perhaps others might feel the same way, though.

I think I'm gonna come by and take a look to see what you mean.

The elevator and tower have been there for a long time. I don't think we should get rid of them so quickly, maybe updating some here and there and maybe tweaking the script for the elevator or something.

...goodness, i hope the elevator and tower don't ever go away!..updated, renovated, revised as the community evolves, yes, but i'm sure nobody's suggesting that they be removed...

...i believe pacifen was referring more to the other abandoned builds scattered across gray, possibly buying and consolidating some of disused parcels and cleaning things up so the flight complex can better harbour a burgeoning community...

...i think integrating the sundry personal skyboxes as elevator stops above the cloudline is marvelous idea - it'd both clear up the surrounding airspace and give the tower a 'living' sense of purpose...perhaps it's not something we should rush into, but after renovating the elevator and lower tower structure it could be a great way to replace the disused upper levels with standardised high-altitude workshop modules designed in keeping with the lower-level tower renovations...

Yes, Myrrh is right. I'm not talking about removing the tower, but integrating all the other skybox clutter into the tower design. My thinking being that since we have the tower, why not *use* it?

Also, in the five months I've been wandering around Gray, I think I only ever saw the elevator work once. For maybe a day. I've found many wanderers waiting at the bottom of the tower, wondering just how long that elevator is going to take to get back down to ground level.

So to clarify: I don't want to replace the tower. I do want a working elevator. I would like to see people use the tower versus building their own skybox.
