How do you create a texture that you can see through

I was wondering how to make a texture for a fence where you could see through the bars of the fense. Please help.

Hi Cybertek. Welcome to SL. :)

As Ralph said, you'll find the answer to this question (in spades) on the texture forum. Specifically, check out the transparency guide, which is stickied right at the top. In it you'll find a FAQ section with all the conceptual information you need to know, as well as 4 tutorials for Photoshop, 1 for Photoshop Elements, and 1 for Paint Shop Pro. If you have any questions after reading it, let me know.

Just so you know, the building forum here is about building 3-dimensional objects, not 2-dimensional images, so you won't find a whole lot of texturing answers here. If you do have more questions on texturing, it's best to ask them over there.
