Hey everyone, I recently bought some nice land and have begun the long process of building a club of sorts. I'm pretty much using most of the land for the building itself. I just wanted to extend my hospitality and see if any experienced builders could give me a tip. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Plush%20Mega/28/106All the textures were made by me as well except for the floor (SL base texture)

Gabriel, I'm sorry that I'm not in the game right now to check out your place but I can still give you some advice based upon what happened to a friend of mine who used every inch of your land for a building.
1. Do not put a lot of camping chairs into the club. The lag caused by their scripts and the associated influx of avatars will strain the sim.
2. If you are going to use the whole land mass and not leave yourself an entrance make sure you take off all or part of the roof. My friend was so successful drawing people to her club that three of her four neighbors (a) complained about the lag and demanded she move, then (b) put up security fences around their property so no one could enter her club unless they teleported or flew in through the roof.
Of course neither of these suggestions might pertain to you but I still think they need to be made for anyone reading.

the club is situated next to a walkway with some really nice lights and sidewalk. Instead of roads, there are canals (it's on a private island owned by someone else). The entrance is clear and sits slightly off the sidewalk to allow for a "velvet rope" area. There is also a little space in the rear for outside seating and/or tables.
I thought about not having a roof, but it looked wrong and I decided practicality over marketability.

I like what you've done so far. i think you might lift the roof about 2 meters. The lines are very clean, and the color scheme is very pleasing.
There is a natual tendency to put sofas and bars around the outside, like in real life, but I find that putting them in the middle makes navigation and camera control easier.
What kinds of activities do you have in mind for the club? Keep us posted.
