Bridge that crosses a sim boundary

I know this has probably been covered already, but I don't even know WHERE to search for it.

I need to build a bridge that I can walk across that crosses a sim boundary. I've heard that you need to butt up the prims exactly at the edge, I've heard that you need to have 2 prims linked.

I've tried pretty much every combination of this, but I cannot build a bridge that I can walk across. I know from my sailing days that cross sim boundaries is painful.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

You need a prim in each sim that extends across to the other sim, a bit like the bars of an equals sign: = Using this, the vehicle or avatar traveling across will sink less at the sim border, or recover from sinking. Of course, the prims need to be separated on their top surface by 1 or 2 mm, to keep from flashing back and forth visually, but the avie or vehicle won't show any effect of the difference.

Yes, it has been covered in this forum several times. I was going to suggest that you simply type the words "sim Boundary" into a search of the forum archives (you still ought to do that), but I can save you some trouble. The best recent answer is at /8/86/247749/1.html#post1913069.
