Hi,
I'm using sculpties to build fountains and other items. Usually, I just eyeball my objects to get them centered. I'm a new builder and still learning the techniques of controlling my objects. Now that I've got some nice pieces I want to link them all together. The problem is... I don't know the best way to center them. Which coordinates will help me get the objects lined up together?
Thanks for your help to another new builder!

You're not using "More" tab on Edit to get the X/Y/Z coordinates of the objects?
That should be fairly self explanatory ... unless I'm not understanding you correctly.

Broccoli is right. It took me awhile before it dawned on me. Look at the X and Y coordinates of one of your objects, then move it (using the numbers, not your mouse) to the nearest whole numbers.. say 89 and 45. Now move your other object to the same set of numbers, 89 and 45. They will then be centered, just move the object up to the Z position you want .. Ethan

You can also use the "snap to grid function" to easily align your objects to horizontal, vertical or both coordinates, much faster then editing the numbers.

I just said this elsewhere. The building grid is the best building assistant in SL! Use it!

It's been my experience that using the snap to XY grid function isn't always the fastest or easiest way to align two prims. The reason being that it will snap to the nearest XY intersection. If both prims aren't close to the same intersection, it just doesn't do any good. The easiest method I found for precise alignment of prims is to highlight the desired parameter (X,Y or Z position) in one prim and use CTRL-c to copy it. Then click on the other prim and highlight the same parameter. Use CTRL-v to paste the value into the box. Same goes for rotation or size. Note that in all instances, Mac users will use the Command (Apple) key rather than the CTRL key. Also, for fine-tuning, you can hover your mouse over the desired parameter and roll your mouse wheel.
